Unreal weapon. At this rate I'll upgrade my 816 dps POS sometime by Halloween.

I paid 49 mil for it, it was 1d11h so I snapped it up, then paid 5-6 mil for the gem.

Someone go look at my gear and then tell me what to buy on AH for combined 4.4 mill

If I found a new one for a decent price I would give away the one I have currently. It was given to me by someone else from here so it would only seem fitting to pass it along.

Anyone have a good, defensive build for a hardcore wiz. I'm currently level 37 and struggling in act 1 nm...thanks

so i've been trying out things, since my gear was already fairly defense oriented anyways, and found a spec that makes me almost invincible (frozen and arcane enchanted mobs give me trouble, but stuff like plagued, i can just tank thru without ever losing hp). it definitely isn't an offensive build, but works well with my buddy, who runs an archon spec (i tank it, he spanks it).

i know, lol melee wizard, lol roll a barb/monk etc, whatever, i rolled wizard, i can go offensive still anytime i want, but can also do this to change it up.

anyways, spec is this, as for gear, focus on resists and armor first, get some life on hit, then stack crit chance and int after that.

optional skills are mirror images (i liked them cuz they spam your skills, and it resets your cooldowns faster) and blur, those 2 can be switched out for whatever you like really. also, explosive blast (chain reaction) works good instead of meteor, since your images will also cast those but not meteor.

as far as rotations go, there really isn't one. cast your images once, then spam meteor, frost nova, and crystal shell (with critical mass, the cooldowns will be up about every 2-3 seconds). recast images when necessary, and use blades whenever you can't meteor (optional really, your images will blade constantly, that along with meteor crits makes your cooldowns reset really fast).

search ah for cheap gear, set buyout for 3000, and buy the highest int/vit pieces you can get.

I heard diamond skin loses its effectiveness as you progress into the later levels. Does this only really happen in hell or inferno?

Diamond skin is still very useful in the first few acts of inferno, anyway. It can be useful all the way through, depending on your setup. The higher your armor and resists, the more useful it is.

Diamond skin is the nuts if you have Armor/resists, 21k with crystal shell goes a long way when the mobs only hit for 4-7k. Or for reflect mobs

With hydras proccing life on hit now, reflect damage mobs shouldn't really be a problem.

Just carry a +400 life amulet (they are under 200k) around.

level 28 or so and currently having most fun i've had so far.

build:

spectral blade + impactful blades (slow + knockback)
arcane orb + arcane orbit (4 orbs float around)
diamond skin + prism
hydra or blizzard
magic weapon + electrify

I feel like this build has great synergy because I throw down the blizzard or hydra, run into a group of mobs while charging explosive blast, the arcane orbs hit, blast goes off and i'm cut whatever survives up with the blades. If I get into trouble I can throw up the diamond skin.

Anyone else doing this build? how long til it isn't viable. I hope a long time because I think its the most fun i've had by far.

yeah, unless im missing something, i do not see LoH proc from hydra at all. have only tried venom and arcane so far, but i see LoH from bliz, from shock pulse and nuttin from hydra...

which sucks because i spent most of the day shuffling crap and spending all my duckets stacking 850 LoH, which is fine, is does proc on others, but hydra is key.

I could be wrong and it's galvanizing armor (and lower DPS) doing all the work. But my HP isn't going down when I am just kiting with hydra vs. reflect dmg mobs.

Oh, well, 400 life regen amulet it is.

I am getting so pissed at this game, but not the actual game play part, I'm getting pissed at the auction house. I want boots with the following:
125+ int
75+ vit
12% move speed
12% magic find

What would you guys value these at?

In my never ending quest to not suck as much as I feel like I have since the hydra nerf, I swapped to...

MM/Seeker
Disintigrate/Volatility
Hydra/Arcane
MW/Force
Force Armor
Teleport/Fracture

Illusionist
Temporal Flux
Astral Presence

Had to go with temporal flux once I dumped Bliz for Disintigrate and then it also made since to switch hydra to arcane.

Seems to be working fair, but without large area crowd control offered somewhat by Bliz, I'm not sure how far it can get with my sad 30k dps right now.

Act1 elites melt much faster, but if I do end up in a kite situation where it is all I can do to run and stay ahead of the pack, not having Bliz to cast and run them through is a bit of an issue also.

I really just need 2 more ****ing skill slots to be happy

I spent a lot of time searching for boots that were ~140/70/15/12, and I've seen them up for between 7-10m a couple times (once at 1.5m which I snap-bought, lolol). So if those prices are to be believed, I'd estimate ~3m, but I haven't looked for that specific range of stats. Those prices I'm quoting could be outdated too.

Thanks Daz. I guess that is what I will have to spend. Damn, maybe I will look into crafting

Hey Solsek, you got a 6 prop boots recipe yet?

If you're still crafting when I get home, I will hit you up for 10 gloves and 10 bracers.

Actually, ignore what I said in my previous post. I just looked again and prices have changed, a lot. I guess I'm about 1-2 weeks behind on my boots pricing.
