Worldwide gaming market his $91 billion

Why, exactly, is game programming such an under-payed, overworked profession, then?

At least, that's what one is lead to believe based on numerous accounts of 80-hour work weeks and sub-optimal compensation.
Supply and demand obviously. It's a cool job lots of people want to do.

Sooooooooo gonna admit how newb I am to gaming even though I've played since I was a child. 91 billion is obviously a lot of money but there's still tons of struggling companies and failed ones... how much of that 91 billion is actually profit?

I watched one of Saint's Row 1 so that I could play Saint's Row 2+. 1 was a 360 exclusive and I had no intention of getting one of those anytime soon. I liked the guy who did it and would watch others if he'd done more.

Also have watched for unimaginably arcane games like The Wizard & the Princess.

Likely nothing makes me shake my head more in video gaming than all the negative steam reviews from people who played the game for like 200+ hours. You're all morons.

got minecraft windows 10 version + pocket editions working together, hosting on my PC with the wife joining in on our tablet. Both using controllers, very good times.

Audio isn't working on my computer for minecraft only for some reason.

Star Wars Force Arena is a mix of moba and hearthstone. Interesting concept if only controls were better.

I am looking to possibly sell my 3DS XL. It has several good games on it that I downloaded instead of buying the cartridge (Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Legend of Zelda Link Between Worlds, New Super Mario Bros 2, Shovel Knight) and a few more.

Gamestop will wipe those and give credit for only the system and the 3 cartridge games I own. Can I sell the system with the downloaded games on it to someone so that they can play them (say on ebay)? Maybe if I give them my NNID info (assuming I wipe any personal info saved on there)? I didn't know if the NNID is only associated with that device so I could maybe stay logged in so they wouldn't have to re enter information after I shipped it to them. I would probably be able to net another $75+ for keeping the downloaded games I have on there so looking to see how I can get this done if it is possible. Thanks
Matt

I would search the larger internet, I am sure this has came up before.

Thank you for the worthless, troll answer. I have been searching the "larger internet" and have found different answers that contradict. I know Gamestop will wipe it and only give credit for the system and cartridge games.

A system reset will wipe the downloaded stuff from the sounds of it. If I sell it to someone I know can I remove my financial info and just let them play on my NNID is my main question since I have no intentions of buying another one down the road? My other option is ebay where the same question would come into play...as long as I wipe all my info can they just play on my nnid to keep those downloaded games since it adds some really good value for the buyer?

I think your scorn is misplaced and he was earnestly suggesting that other people have probably had this issue and the internet at large may have more info for a somewhat niche problem than people on 2+2 would.

My apologies...having been an active poster on here for years I figured it would be apparent that researching on the internet would be the first place I would have checked so it almost sounded like mocking me as if to say "duh, did you try the internets you moran"?! ...apologies pope

I have looked far and wide and like I said have read contradictory posts on different sites. I have 3 options now...wipe it at gamestop for $100 credit plus the cartridge games, sell it to a friend and possibly still have to wipe it but is the question about the NNID I am asking, or 3rd sell it on ebay with the same question assuming I delete my contact/financial stuff etc and just let them use my NNID to play the games.

It's not a huge deal and worst case scenario I wipe it and just sell it with the 3 games...just figured the added value of those downloaded games was hands down worth looking into.

Isn't the obvious solution to remove your info and see if you can still play the games?

If that doesn't work and it wipes the downloaded games when I could have not done anything and let them play it using my NNID then that would not be the first option I would think to try.

Has anyone sold their system to a friend and just let them play on their NNID?

My apologies if it sounds I am being pissy. I have spent a lot of time now trying to find this answer online with no such luck with contradictory answers.

Yeah, my most recent systems owned are Wii (which I don't intend to sell but have lots of downloaded games on) and GBA.

So I don't have any first hand knowledge, and with a small community of Nintendo users here and the likelihood someone else has done this and will reply with an answer seemed like a low probability, so I answered as I did in a way that would hopefully get you an answer, and in a much quicker time period than waiting here.

I do troll on here from time to time, but not usually in the video game forum.

Ok, I finally broke down and called Nintendo. My best solution (even though they don't encourage it) would be to delete the credit card info (obviously) and then the buyer would have access to my personal info on my NNID (I would need to check what all that is), but would not be able to buy anything with my credit card info... Ill have to check what personal information is listed but that is probably the way to go if I don't care what is listed on there.

Could you then potentially re-log into that NNID and have access to their CC info on a different device? Or is a NNID tied to only one device?

Source code to Turok was found on an old computer. Currently at $2k on ebay.

Having the old source code and dev kits and stuff is pretty cool, you could make some kick ass mods and homebrews and stuff I'm sure.

Would it be possible to make changes, compile them and overwrite an existing cart? Probably with the right hardware I guess.

I was thinking you could buy up worthless old N64 carts (like old sports games and ****) and put your own custom games on them and it would all be native stuff no emulation or anything.

Or don't buy a bunch of burning hardware and just write for the emulators. The turok thing I would guess is copyright infringement at best

This is already possible with an everdrive.
