I posted before about my PS2 acting up and taking a long time to load discs. Someone suggested cleaning the unit. So I went to
http://arstechnica.com/articles/paed...ware/ps2.ars/3 and followed the instructions. The problem I had was that I would put a disc in and it would take a while to load. And some discs wouldn't load at all. The second problem seems to be solved. But not the first one.
But with the system open, I can see what happens when I put a disc in--nothing. It'll just sit in the player for quite a few seconds (I didn't time it, but probably over 30 seconds.) When it finally does start spinning, the game loads pretty quickly (thanks to the adjustment). But I have no idea why it takes so long to start spinning.
