If your think Morrowind or Oblivion are forgotten games than I wouldn't really trust your judgement on anything video game related.

And ME3 is the best game of the series. And I'm saying that as someone who thought the final 10 mins were the worst thing since the holocaust.

ME3>ME2>ME1

yeah the ending of the ME trilogy was a disappointment (though i wasnt nearly as mad as a lot of the internet) but the game itself was pretty damn good.

i think i give ME2 the edge over it but its probably really close

Morrowind is one of my favourite games so yeah i know neither of those 2 are forgotten. My point is that the hype for elder scrolls games only last untill the next version because they just keep polishing and tweaking the same game over and over.

Also as a fan of RPG games i feel like they are becoming more of a medieval travel sim than a RPG for every edition so i would not say that Skyrim is a must play.

pretty much my only complaint about ME2 is that the essential story missions have weird timing if you're going to do every single non-essential team-building missions. aside from that, the game is damn near flawless.

**** all the wacky promotions GOG comes up with...

every time it's some funky short timed crap where you either have to check every 20 minutes or lose a ton of sales.

Does anybody happen to have a copy of Saint's Row: The Third for PS3 with an unused multiplayer code?

I hope for TES6 they do some major changes to the combat system. It's basically been the same thing since morrowind and it's not that good.

So I just found a mod called Morroblivion that lets you play morrowind in the Oblivion engine with Oblivion graphics. This includes map, skills, textures everything upgraded.

Basically I've been wanting to play/finish Morrowind for years but the game did not age well at all. I'm an hour into this mod and it's fantastic. It's really the craziest mod I've ever seen for a videogame so I had to post it. Apparently they are working on updating this for TES5 engine. Additionally they are working on an Oblivion update for the TES5 engine.

Skywind is also in production, although it's not as far along as Morroblivion. http://tesrenewal.com/skywind-faq

Apparently WB is refusing to patch Batman: Arkham Origins while continuing to work on new DLC.

Quote:
Hi all,

The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.

If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient.
Note that this game has only been out for three months at this point. WB now joins EA, Ubisoft and Rockstar on my personal boycott list.

How serious and widespread are remaining issues?

apparently progression blocking, which seems rather serious to me.

I guess if you're exclusively a PC gamer that makes sense.

Porting console games to PC is kind of a pain in the ass; with consoles you have APIs from Sony/Microsoft to handle those issues (authentication, online play), and then on PC you have to do all that **** yourself.

Steam handles all of that. I would imagine most of their sales are through Steam anyways unlike Ubisoft and EA, so I don't get why they even bother.

Steam can handle all of that, its just developers wanting people to use their own aids platforms.

But then you're Steam-exclusive, right?

Depends on the kind of game you're talking - iirc EU4 is Steam-only, but that goes to a pretty niche crowd who probably already has a huge install base on Steam. That probably isn't the case for the GTA market.

Building/maintaining those AIDS platforms isn't fun. In certain cases (lolEA?) I imagine there are corporate directives behind the creation of those AIDS platforms, but in general I would say "making people use our platforms" isn't a huge motivating factor.

It's Steam-exclusive in the sense that you need Steam installed to play the game but you can still sell your games on any digital storefront or retail store. Developers set up their own platforms because they don't want to pay Steam's 30% cut. Meanwhile retail sales and console manufacturers take a much larger cut.

One of the few times I can remember ragequitting was when I had to connect to the internet and sign up for both gfwl and rockstar social club just to be able to play and save a single player game of a physical storebought copy of gta4.

I've never really found social club to be a pain at all however I never really minded GFWL either and I know I'm in the minority with that. I understand the hate for pre loaders on top of Steam, it can be a pain in the ass especially now that they're pushing big picture. U-Play pisses me off because it's slow as hell. I also understand the reasoning behind wanting to cut out the middle man on an open platform. I had no idea Rockstar used Tages and Securom. They're not listed on any of the steam pages and enhanced steam only shows Social Club as DRM. Tages and Securom are messed up, I refuse to buy any game that has an activation limit.
