This is really random, but if anyone has a guitar hero guitar (games no necessary but wouldn't hurt) for PS3 that they don't use anymore I would like to buy one. Do no want a RB guitar and need something that's still in proper working condition (ie: no button misreads, etc).

Total shot in the dark but I'm getting a super itch to play again and figured it can't hurt.

If you have any kind of used game store in your city, you should be able to get virtual any guitar hero guitar for super cheap as there is a massive glut of them in the market.

In Fifa, instead of having to message your opponent before the game starts, is there an easier way of warning them that you will be filing a systems tampering complaint if they are to quit the game during play?

Does anyone else still love playing Doom? Is it the greatest game ever or just nostalgia that causes it to still be fun?

I bought Final Doom awhile back on Steam and just started the TNT episode last night. Super fun.

I actually made a Doom map of my school when I was in grade 9, complete with custom sprites for the teachers and hated fellow students.

Thank god for me that was pre-columbine.

This would get more discussion if you made a separate thread. jkjk

For me, it's nostalgia. My dad liked to play so I would sit next to him and watch him. He also liked to play Duke Nuke'Em, so both of these games are pretty high up there for nostalgia, but I wouldn't ever buy the game just to play it again.

Doom is still playable and it always will be. It controls well, it sounds good and its got atmosphere. The graphics might age but the design doesn't.
It's like Tetris or Pac Man it will always be fun for five minutes.

The Brutal Doom mod that was getting some attention a while back is pretty cool. I hadn't bothered with any of the newer OpenGL engines until this, it's pretty cool being able to use mouse-look and native resolutions.

There's a very very small chance it's on a floppy somewhere buried in a box. How long does data on floppies last?

Was thinking of getting a NES or SNES game as a Christmas present for my bro. He likes Turtles in Time so I was thinking Turtles III for NES or Battletoads for SNES. Earthbound seems pretty cool but it's also very expensive. What else?

Contra 3: The alien wars ?

Give us a bit more info about what he likes and what your budget is. My favourite Snes games are Super Mario World 2 : Yoshi's island and Chrono Trigger but ones a cutesy platformer and the others expensive.

So Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is coming out shortly, it's for the Nintendo 3DS.

I love the Zelda series and absolutely want to play the game, but I can't see buying a 3DS (XL) at about $250 here (quite pricey IMO) just for one game, and I don't really want a handheld console.
Those of you who have the 3DS, are there more good games making it worthwhile to purchase? I've played through regular OoT several times so not really interested in that.
Does anyone see this game being released on other platforms in a few years time?

We've already played a tonne of Contra 3 on Virtual Console.

SMW 2 looks pretty fun. I was considering Earthworm Jim too.

His likes are all over the place really.

Tried World of Warplanes, did not like it at all. As of right now it takes longer to find a game than to actually play it.

Will stick to World of tanks.

Just the cartridge for Earthbound is expensive? I thought only boxed copies carried a high price.

Great game though

First few on ebay were $140 and $150 for cartridge only.

The market has probably came down a tiny bit since it is available on Wii U VC now. Still tilted it never came out on Wii VC and I am unlikely to get Wii U.

The price of old SNES games has really jumped the last couple of years even command carts that were a couple of pounds are now a tenner.

I read Masters of Doom a couple of years ago which was pretty great (history of iD). It made me want to play all of that era's FPS games, and made a convincing case that the level design was pretty intelligent.

Good chance it's dead. And supposedly the 5.25" data lasts longer than the 3.5" which seems counter-intuitive.

Oh well. The sprites were pretty bad and the level design was pretty simple because I went to a small highschool which was basically a cluster of classrooms around a tiny courtyard.

I've been meaning to find out how to get some of my old data from my childhood off of floppies and zip/syquest cartridges that are like 20 years old now. Ton of Doom/Marathon maps I made and all of my old IRC chat logs that I'd love to read again. Doesn't look like it's going to happen from a brief google search
