im sure insoo has some of these too... so if you see this and want to play with me, him, or with 2 of your buddies... i'm happy to ship the codes.

no more free play afaik.

if anyones on the fence, buy this now. the combat is so very very awesome, i believe theyve revolutionized the genre. i get the same feeling/satisfaction from the combat here as the early Ninja Gaidens, and in a persistent, BEAUTIFUL world. theres a lot of cool endgame and pvp content coming soon (already in place in ktera), but im just as excited to continue rolling alts as for it because the combat is so fun and unique from different class perspectives.

im on Valley of Titans with a 53 warrior and some alts, if anyone else is there and wants a leveling buddy pm me im thinking of rolling a mystic and actually leveling it sometime

i just came across this game did it just come out this year?

how does it rate with other MMOs ?

looks pretty good

yeah it just came out this year, you can see the time stamps of earlier posts itt when people were playing beta.

it is the best mmo out right now imo. the combat is awesome and such a breath of fresh air that i dont think ill be able to go back to traditional tab targeting mmos.

unfortunately, endgame is pretty lame atm. its basically enormous lagfests (that only take place on weekend evenings) for pvp gear and a few dungeons you can run repeatedly.

also, i believe there is currently a free 7 day trial offer going on. although its not totally commitment free, as the download is ~25 gb. check out enmasse.

been reading about the game online and im finding so many mixed reviews
bought it today but had to go work -.-

i just want to play a solid MMOrpg that i can grind out cool items that isnt WOW

aware of guildwars 2 but its not out ~0~;;

why this section so dead? D3 threads are going crazy since release but tera is basicly dead?

would it be better to start leveling on empty server then transfer to populated one when you bink to 60?

getting ganked all the time would be annoying

pvp is very very fun. the action combat just works so well and solves so many classic mmo problems it is easy to wonder how this hasnt been done before. while gear is still important, as it should and has to be in any persistent world, skill is the deciding factor almost always.

i would just create your character on a pvp server. you can switch channels any time you like, and there is almost no danger of being ganked on channels other than 1, if youd like to level in peace. also, midlevel pvp is some of the most fun imo (as long as youre just flagging and fighting people in your level range for fun while questing; not that douche who runs around slaughtering people 10 lvls lower than himself) so dont deprive yourself of it.

e: just saw you said populated, i was reading it as pvp vs nonpvp for some reason. all the pvp servers are populated i believe, just pick one.

true story.

by the quickness of your post im guessing you havent fought BAMs yet? theyre introduced at ~20 and blew my mind, that i was fighting them in an mmo, at first. instances are also introduced around that level and are great.

Stumbled across some news that this game is coming out for free on the 5th. Conceptually this sounds very appealing, and I'm typically not interested in MMORPGS.

Its advertised as an action RPG with giant monsters. I have to imagine its something like Dark Souls meets Shadows of the Colossus. I'm downloading the trial now.

Edit: Maybe a mod can change thread title to something like Tera Online - Now Free to Play.

Obligatory Bump:

Downloaded this & really enjoying it so far. It's still free. Just got to the BAMs (Big-Ass Monsters) & first Dungeon. Really like being able to play on a gamepad. Graphics are nice (pegasus flight can give you vertigo). Its very easy to party with others. Loot progression is good, and fairly distributed in parties.

Also did some very light PVP & just barely survived my first fight. The game really is skill-based so it doesn't have to feel like a grindy experience. Some of the characters are extremely agile and quick.

Currently using a Lv 24 Lancer, so if anyone else starts playing and/or has character comparable in level pm me or post in thread and we can party up sometime.

I played this from Launch and capped pretty quick. Problem was the lack of endgame contebt (there was no vanarch etc). May download it again, had pretty decent gear too!

It's really good/fun to play, the entire problem is lack of viable endgame, or at least it was.

Been playing this for a minute, on Lake of Tears(i think?)

Got a 32 Lancer. Combat system is really fun... Seems a bit pay2win tho =/

Guess you expect that from a F2P game, however.
