While I'd agree mburke spits out some ridiculously loltastic comments, this forum is pretty biased against Terran.

Tried to stay out of this ****storm, but since I'm posting now -- Infestors are #2 AINEC.

Reddit is also super biased against terran. TL might be, I never visit that hell hole.

I'm sure it sucks to always have people telling you that you are basically playing a game on ez mode every time you want to get involved in a discussion.

I actually wholeheartedly agree with this. Infestors synergize so well with most zerg army types, and punish heavy investment harass (namely drops, but also banshees/DTs when you don't have detection) and high food units like colossi/thors. They can even surprise you with some harass of their own. The 100/150 cost is pretty excellent for such a flexible spellcaster (I do think HT are more flexible overall, and ghosts are more flexible against toss). As a terran player, I'm usually frightened when I see 8+ infestors.

Something tells me charge might actually be a detriment against zerg. It can get your zealots separated from the rest of the army and reduce your death ball's effectiveness in a big fight (and put your damage dealers at risk). However, you could use it to head off infestors, though you should have blink for that purpose. Charge might also prevent/reduce the effect of separating/concaving the zerg army with force fields, though pinning them down with a wall of FF behind them is obviously viable, esp with colossi. If you're dealing with a sh*t ton of lings, I can see why charge definitely is a poor choice, as staying together prevents your stalker/colossi from getting surrounded/flanked by lings & air.

If you are looking at strictly dps per resources spent I think carriers actually do the most IIRC, but dps isn't a really good measure of strength considering carriers are hilariously late tech wise. You could cut the fleet beacon timing in half and I still doubt they'd show up in competitive play.

I think the answer is pretty close between marines and infestors, marines just seem more egregious because they are tier 1 tech so they are a factor in every terran game.

Uh, they are only lolbad and a waste of resources because of their place in the tech tree which makes them easy to scout and counter as well as requiring additional time and resources to build them as opposed to something like BCs where you can just swap the Starport addons you already built or Greater Spire tech where you often already have a Spire and getting a lair is desirable anyway as it is required for various upgrades. I mean are you seriously saying that you don't think carriers would see competitive play if you could build them out of gateways? Also, unlike pretty much every other late game choice there is no build that just transitions into Carriers, and if you are getting a Fleet Beacon, the mothership is more cost efficient and has more utility, ldo.

Double checking carriers do look like they most efficiently do damage per resource, its a shame that they are so easily countered and aren't a viable competitive unit like they were in certain situations in SC1
