Next "major" is SpaceBattleOpera or Tougeki in japanese. Takes place from 8/14-8/16 in Tokoyo. The big difference between majors in japan and america is in japan you have to register with your character and you can only play that character throughout the whole tournament. Should make for some good matches.

Like many SF4 neophytes I have a hard-on for Daigo and all the epic matches and drama he's been associated with. But can someone point me towards some more poignant videos in regard to his epic matches and perhaps beefs he had with Wong or other players or anything else interesting in regards to the background of these top tier players ; or any other games even where there are compelling real-life characters who dominate their opposition etc? I dig this ****

Question to those with more stick experience...

I have a Madcatz TE fightstick, and am having a lot of trouble consistently pulling off QCF/QCB of all things. I just switched from balltop to battop and that seemed to help, but would replacing the square gate with an octagonal (or round?) gate help a lot?

Are there any drawbacks to ditching the square gate if I don't play any charge characters at all?

The shorcut of the documentary I Got Next is out. It's mostly strung together clips. It's ok but hopefully will be better after they add in EVO and SBO and release the long cut in the winter.

Yeah man that guy didn't miss any combos when he played me but missed a lot of stuff vs. Chris. I was in the room Hu was chillin at that night playing some money matches but I didn't get a chance to play him. ($25 random select matches baby)

I was getting pretty predictable with my fireballs though, he caught a lot of free jump-ins because of that. Oh well.

apparently daigo won the last round to win that match 5-4, and then they had a rematch and daigo won 5-0

marn is very impressive though. I don't think I've seen a better Viper.
