just had a terran completely deny all my scouting and then turtle hard on 2 bases and make mass viking/banshee. had at least 3 marines patrolling every cliff along with 1 viking running around making sure none of my ols left my base. obviously saw the banshees early and made mutas but lol at mutas vs mass viking. no chance.
i had 12 mutalisks but it was useless. i managed to get 5 queens up in time but he cloaked all the banshees and focused down all the spores. he also was 0.5 shotting (half his army is all it took) overseers. i was completely clueless. still sort of am. if i dont scout that i honestly have no idea how i can beat it. it was long spawn so getting an ol there just isn't going to happen.
he then transitioned into mass BC, and BCs absolutely rape ground light units such as marines... and hydras. as well as yamato all infestors to one shot them.
but hey, it's not like terran has flexible units or many viable tech paths to worry about. that's only one of like 3 things he can do sort of like protoss. and with really good zerg hatchery tech scouting abilities i should have definitely been able to see it coming.
obviously his army wasn't very mobile, so when he took expos they were vulnerable. he doesnt have a building that does 40 splash damage to all units and plus with his lack of map control with 40 vikings i could surprise him.
That is an awesome strategy.
I would love to see someone play that against Idra.

alright, **** it, i'm switching to the 1-1-1 vs toss. I was going fast expos and marauder pokes, but, well, **** that.
also, as a T, there is nothing that makes me happier than playing a zerg, just pushing out, and picking off 2-3 overlords. I'm attacking you and your supply blocked right before i get there. ahahahahahahahahaha.
i used to complain that depots were useless as supply structures compared to ovies and pylons, but the positive side of that is at least my supply structures are in my base and not just wandering around the map.
ug. watching gsl makes me realize how much i suck.
TvZ T looks totally in control all game. I have a couple good one base pushes but after that I suck at TvZ.
So how do i get better at it?
I think I'm going to start not dong any more 1 base pushes. I'm going to start doing two base pushes. Once I'm comfortable with those, I'm going to them move into 3 base and long macro games.
I 1 gate expanded, never got blocked, shut down banshee harass losing like 2-3 probes max. Made 3 stalkers then pure zealot sentry immo. Only thing I think I should have done is gone for faster sentries cause I only had 1 gs and it was late. The one that comes with 2 tanks 2-3 banshees and a handful of scvs at like 9:00 is super strong.
I hate how it feels like I'm so close to holding it off but I just barely can't.
Question: If they show me the reactor on the tech lab, can I skip an obs? Or at least delay it.
gospy, i did like 8 practice games in a row vs. swoooooosh last night on XNC while you were practicing with zefa. he did the 1-1-1 all in every single time.
i think that you need to build the obs. sometimes cloak comes with the banshees (not always, but sometimes). i guess you can skip it all together but you should at least have a probe outside of his base to know the exact moment he's moving out (obviously you should predict this around 9-9:30ish anyways). i'm thinking that maybe it MIGHT be best to just skip the obs and just start pumping immos though...it was really close for me when getting that second immo out. (though, i think i should edit my build vs. the 1-1-1: i should have just gone 1 gate/cc/nexus/robo/3 gates instead of 1 gate/cc/2 gates/robo).
i think it's key that we attack the army before he sieges up. the problem with that is obviously you try to delay as much as possible and build as many units as you can before pressing out...so idk.
