I'm not going to get sucked into paying for keys so I will trade for them or have a ton of unlocked crates.

If you get someone to agree to the trade, you need to invite them to your rocket league group at the main screen, click on their name and open the Trade Window from there.

Why would you be stupid and support the game you spent hundreds hours in?

I've played with the Paladin since launch, never changed vehicles once, never bought any DLC. Got the game for free on PS4 when it was on PS+, and bought the game on PC.

$20 total invested into the game, I don't mind being patient to trade my items for my price for things people pay real life money for. I guess I will be the downfall of the franchise. lol

I never bought cars but I bought ~10 keys just to support the company which continues working on the game and pumps out continuous free updates. I'm willing to pay more than 10 cents per hour of great entertainment. If it was just a single player game then I agree, but here I think it's different. Same with Path of Exile, I bought each supporter pack voluntarily after spending couple hundred hours ingame.

I don't hate your approach, it's up to everyone to decide themselves, but criticizing people who bought keys is just silly and a bit shortsighted I think.

edit: you didn't technically criticize, but phrasing 'I won't get sucked into paying' gave me such impression.

I have bought keys, in part because they say some of the money goes to support the RLCS, which I watch and enjoy a lot (when not having my self esteem destroyed). I'd never judge someone for choosing not to buy keys, and I would hope they'd not judge me either. Just a personal choice.
