killer_kill - usually lists of PSN names in the threads for the games rather than here.

marty- codes are region locked, if it's a UK code you'll need a UK buyer.

PS+ for January announced, includes Day of the Tentacle, This War of Mine, Titan Souls, and The Swindle. Nice lineup iyam but of course people are crying about lack of AAA games. I've already beaten Titan Souls on PC and have This War of Mine but don't play it; excited to get DOTT, never played it.

Day of the Tentacle was already a PS+ game last year..

NM, was thinking of Grim Fandango.

Ta

May not need a buyer if someone can confirm that I can input the code and I'll have ps4+ network access for an extra year (over and above the year I just signed up for on Xmas day)??

Yes, that works - just adds time on the end of your sub.

The Swindle and Titan Souls are cross-buy with Vita. Day of the Tentacle is an all-time classic, though so is Grim Fandango and I put that down after a couple of hours, so it may not be the best experience on console.

Dunno what vita cross buys are

PS+ gives 6 games per month - two each for PS4, PS3, PS Vita.

Vita cross buy = game is for both PS4 and PS Vita, promoted as "a vita game" in the blog posts etc to make the 2/2/2 but they are often for PS4 also. One of the PS3 games is cross buy too this month. Both? There are 5 PS4 games this month!

Easiest is on playstation.com website. Sign in there, click Games, PS Plus, Show all, then "buy" them all.

I've been getting a ton of spam messages by some randoms lately. Does anyone know where to turn this off?

Been happening to me too but I have no idea how to stop them.

Also there is a flash sale going on on the PSN store w/ a bunch of decent games for $5 or less including Tomb Raider, Payday 2, Outlast, PvZ Garden Warfare, and Psychonaughts

I (hopefully)figure it out. Go into privacy settings and set messages to friends only instead of anyone.

Resident Evil 7 drops on Tuesday, reviews hit tomorrow.

I have high hopes. I loved the old school RE games (1, 2, 3, CodeV, 0, 4).

5 & 6 are embarrassing abortions.

Really glad to see them getting back to attempting to make it a horror game with scares and atmosphere and not some generic shoot em up.

Not typically a fan of first person games so that has me a little wary but willing to see what the review consensus is.

Trailer looks good, initial impressions were horrible at the reveal though. I love RE4, haven't played much else in the series, feels like something I will pick up for $20 down the road if it's really good.

No interest in RE but Yakuza 0 comes out at the same time and I'm so pumped. Yakuza games are always fun and reviews are saying it's the best yet. GG life for about a month.

Got RE7, about 6-7 hours into it, which is probably about half way roughly. It's excellent so far.

Feels like a mix of an old school RE game meets the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, with bits of the Last of Us and Alien Isolation sprinkled in.

I'm playing the normal version, not VR. Despite the first person view still feels like more of an adventure/survival horror game. The atmosphere and setting are highly detailed and do a great job. Typical jump scares you would expect in a horror game, 3 of which have gotten me pretty good. They do a good job of keeping the tension, lots of creeks and weird noises in the house, 95% of the time are absolutely nothing, but are something just enough to keep you unnerved when you hear them.

Game is also decently difficult, for this day and age anyway. I've died a lot, but it has a pretty liberal checkpoint system so you never lose much progress. You also get unlimited saves. You are required to manage your inventory and ration your ammo and healing items as in the older games. However once you beat normal mode you can unlock hard mode and hard mode has no checkpoints and limited saves (saves are consumable items, ala old school RE games) and I'm looking forward to that for sure.

The game also rewards being observant and thorough. Many of consumables and collectibles are easy to find but some are tucked away in nooks and crannies and given that you need them it feels worth it to sorta poke around a room.

The common criticisms from reviewers were the boss fights and lack of variety in monsters and enemies in the game. So far that seems like a valid bone to pick, the boss fights thus far are slanted towards quick time events/puzzles more so than actual combat. And thus far the only real enemies I've dealt with are the crazy humans and the sludge monsters (this game's version of zombies), not counting some insects.

But those are very minor things in the grand scheme of things so far to me. If you like survival horror type games, you'll def like this game.
