I've never seen one in DC (even on my radar). A friend caught one around Eastern Market - debating whether to try to convince the wife to go there for lunch this weekend.

I've caught six Pikachu's. All in parking lots of shopping centers. Not sure if that is just chance but that's the only place I've seen them spawn.

Did 52 today (2 new to the Pokédex, couple misclicks here and there) in about 23 minutes so around 70 should be doable.

I have seen a ton of Pikachus in the restaurant and bar districts of various Silicon Valley cities, so I would try walking around a happening restaurant area near you. I easily have enough to evolve

Nah, my work screws with the google location for some reason, I'm constantly running all over and warping within a square km. I move between 9-15km a day while just sitting at my desk. Also, ran out of pokeballs after 6 hours at work. Had 230 to begin the day with.

Niantic just acknowledged that the flee/capture rate increase is a bug, as well as the removal of nice/great XP bonus. They're working on a fix.

This is the first week when I haven't minded wasting balls on crappy Pokemon. I've gone for walks in the park a few days this week and there are enough Pokestops that I've actually had to throw away balls to make room in my backpack. Before this week, I was down to just a few balls.

You are likely in a large closed in building. My location got thrown around a lot when I was staying in a big hotel. Apparently there is an option to disallow Wifi/4G GPS tracking too

Translation : "We nerfed the catch rate and it pissed alot of people off. Let's change it back and blame it on a bug."

Does this mean they will credit my account to make up for the 200 pokeballs I wasted on the "bug?"

I doubt it. But it DOES mean they are listening. Looks like they've hired a PR manager and have increased communication quite a bit, all in a week.

Hopefully the ragers will start sipping that Haterade a bit more slowly.

Again, it was confirmed as a bug, not a nerf. This is why redditors couldn't find the nerf because it wasn't in the code and no values changed. The bug is an inverse reaction where the more accurate your throw is, the escape rate increases.

The fact that this change was NOT in the code only confirms that it is an unintended bug. In the meantime, I guess we should try to throw worse.

Same. One look at Reddit and you'd think Niantic was carpet bombing cities.

Based on what?

We wanted more communication, they gave it to us. We wanted to know what's being worked on, they told us.

Considering they're still reeling from the unexpected success, what more do you want? It sounds like they're working on all of this as quickly as possible. I'm still amazed at how speedily they stabilized the servers.

Edit: Right, 1% lol. The main issue was communication, but I guess you'll say it's something else now.
