The benchmarks do look really nice. But the performance lead (if it exists) isn't big enough for AMD to regain market share, especially given AMD's tendencies to fail at production scaling.
Still, these are exciting times. AMD upping the core count and performance to "competitive" levels will force Intel to respond with lower prices and higher core counts, eventually leading to much larger user base of quad-core CPUs to tempt developers into properly multi-threading.
Meanwhile, 6700HQ laptops with GTX 1060/1070 laptops are already getting discounted by 100 to 200 due to the imminent release of 7700HQ versions.
