Fenix > Kiwi was the only surprise for me. Pretty entertaining overall.

Agree @ Gretorp trying too hard. Before the third Moon/Grubby game he was like "this game will be absolutely epic" and I'm just thinking how the hell do you know if it's going to be 'absolutely epic'? =\ There are worse casters though. Gretorp at least seems to understand the game a lot better than, say, Doa.

Honestly I think lag will remove all the KR as we saw in TSL. Hope MC proves me wrong
Ballsy picks. Slush may surprise people, but I'm not sure about his ZvP.

Going to throw in mine even though I'm obv not eligible for my own $50.

Group 1: Kiwikaki + Morrow
Group 2: July + Sjow
Group 3: Naniwa + Axslav
Group 4: MC + Brat_OK
Group 5: Sen + Drewbie

Pretty sick that July woke up at 4am to play. Then he stays up for 4 hours waiting. And then he has another 15 hours of slave labor tapping away at his keyboard to practice.

Silly Koreans.

45 minute grace period extended to 4 hours. July getting up at 4am and waiting 4 hours. Really a no-brainer decision.

No biggie in a format like this anyway. Hope people don't freakazoid over it.

iNcontroL saying naniwa is forfeiting his first series for some reason??

He claimed he was too tired to play and wanted to get a few hours of sleep, which everyone agreed to, and then was seen laddering a few minutes later...

apparently naniwa is deciding that he'd rather ladder than play his NASL match

As much as I want to say it's not the NASL's fault that players don't show up to their scheduled matches, they need to make sure it doesn't happen in the future.

side effect of having so many games? individual matches don't mean as much...

Yea I've basically always felt that way. The vast majority of matches will be meaningless and as a result, I have no motivation to watch them. I won't watch the Cavs play the Wizards but I'll gladly watch Lakers/Celtics.

I was only going to watch July/White Ra anyway. But they need to be firmer with scheduling/forfeits. You don't show, you lose, that's it. No extending the waiting period, no offering a reschedule. It's just a forfeit. Set precedent.

It's still weird that these players act so ****ty about their games, no?

There are 64 players and 400k money, so a ticket is "worth" over 6k, yet they don't bother showing up for their matches, ladder instead,... why?

ladder instead?

where did you see that?

afaik it was after the dreamhack invitational after he lost 3-2 to MC...

They were saying that in the TL tourney thread. They were saying he didn't even play at DH yesterday or whenever the match was and he knew about that.

Also prize pool is 100k I thought.

WhiteRa's situation is different than Naniwa.

WhiteRa was in Sweden after the Dreamhack and they tried to coordinate it so that WhiteRa could play, but the Dreamhack people said no because they had to take down the computers and shut off the internet. Then they tried getting ahold of WhiteRa and he wasn't answering his phone...something like that.

Naniwa is different here as it's sounding like he just doesn't want to play.

Nothing in the universe is inherently meaningful, any motivation you feel should be absolutely personal and indifferent to any world circumstances

Seriously? lol

Ok fine. The majority of the matches will have no bearing on who advances. Ergo meaningless. Happy?

The reason I prefer the GSL format is because matches are often knockout matches. If you lose, you're out of the tournament. Far more is at stake. But hey, maybe you like watching QXC play his last match when he's down 0-4 in his group stage instead of watching the match that will decide key standings changes.
