I wouldn't look too heavily into game modes. Even while COD4 was out they were constantly testing new game types. Anything pre-release can change.

I have no idea if this will be the case for MWF2, but I found a retailer ~45 mins from my house that was selling its copies of Madden 2010 a week before the game was actually released...if they do the same thing with MWF2, I might entertain the idea of overnighting copies of the game to cod/2p2 "friends". In talking to the owner of the store when I was picking up Madden he basically said he didn't give a **** about releasing the games early because he was getting paid. I plan on calling the store ~every day starting around Halloween. Any interest?

Just cancelled my Amazon order so I can get it at a local GameStop at midnight. They were also talking about branded Xbox controllers with funky backlights that I'll take a look at.

The comparison of 360 to PS3 to PC is pretty cool. Pretty easy to see why IW is abandoning the PC market.

Edit: Although I'm not sure how well Steam/Direct2Drive sell games.

good old wash st has 4 of the 40, none are my city but i have lived in puyallup and right outside of bellevue.

I think I read it is only for online sales. That $20 isn't worth not having the game at midnight IMO

I am paying the $6 for release day shipping and getting the $20 credit. I don't need the game at midnight and it's nice to have $20 on Amazon for their ridiculous Black Friday deals. I will however be taking a half day that Tuesday and off on Wednesday (Veteran's Day, you are so perfect).

I was doing a little bit of research on the PC version no dedicated servers issue. I think I'm going to wait a week or two before getting this to see what the PC community is saying about multiplayer. I'm worried that multi-player is going to suck now.

As a PC gamer often getting the betting the best end for shooters in the overall market I often struggle to see why CoD is placed upon a platform that stretches into the clouds.

I'm not trying to start a fight. I've played MF1 on Xbox for a few hours and just couldn't find why this game is so hyped up and so highly praised. Now with the PC issues for this game can someone please explain to me what they think makes the game great?

I feel the same way about Halo 3, different strokes/different folks, etc.

MW clicked because it filled a huge void in console FPS's imo. 360/PS3 games with modern weapons, good weapon sounds, attachments/perks, and good controls and a lot of attention to detail are still hard to find.

The only thing I don't get is why it took them so long to move past WWII? What made the WWII games fun is the way they handled and sounded, not the WWII story, but it seems like developers thought the story was a big part of it too and kept on with it.

quake 3 was the best shooter ever(as a q3ler even thinking of playing a shooter with a gamepad makes me lol)

modern warfare was super awesome as well but im very sceptical about modern warfare 2 due to obvious reasons

I've played most of the Call of Duty games and Medal of Honor games. The only other one not in that group that I really enjoyed was the free Wolfenstien game from about 5 years ago (Where there were medics/engineers/lieutenants). That FPS was really really fun. I actually downloaded it again a year or so ago, and it was still fun.

I only do multi-player. I think I might have a grand total of 1 hour combined playing the single player versions of games.

The only other PC games I have really gotten into the last 10 years is Ultima Online (I was addicted to that game for about 2 years), and Age of Empires 2.

looking at those gametype lists I only see maybe 3 HC versions ..... damit IW just make all the gametypes available as HC because your game sux ass on wuss mode.
