How long will it be down for either version?

Problem is, none of the locking chests etc will work. So I don't know what's best to do. Server isn't running right now. Thoughts?

I don't mind that it's down. I'd rather not have someone take all of my stuff.

I don't play that much anymore anyways. Everytime I get on there isn't anyone on so I just log off.

I'm assuming you didn't backup the server before updating.

Crappy thing is it's holiday people would probably actually play today =\

It's back to how it was. Can play using 1.5.

Damn this update is taking forever. Anyone know how I can go back to version 1.5 on a Mac?

I like how maps have somewhat limited functionality. I feel like having maps with elaborate functions would de-emphasize the exploration aspect of things.

OK this has worked on a couple computers, so I'm pretty sure this'll be safe to do:

1. goto http://www.4shared.com/file/kjJSrQ2B/minecraft-15.html
2. download the minecraft-1-5.jar (or whatever its called)
3. click start-run, then type in %APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin
4. when you run minecraft and it updates, it deletes the old minecraft.jar and replaces it with the newest one (1.65 or so right now).
5. rename minecraft.jar to minecraft.old (or whatever)
6. copy the file you downloaded in step 2 into this folder, rename it minecraft.jar
7. run minecraft - it thinks you've already updated, so won't do it again, you should now be running 1.5 and be able to connect to the 2+2 server

note: the minecraft.jar that you downloaded will be overwritten the next time they put out a new version of Minecraft (it will autoupdate), so you'll have to do these steps again until they upgrade the server.

If you run into problems, post here and I'll try to check in regularly.

ps: step 8. log into minecraft server and check out my velociraptor!

I downloaded the newest installer from the official site and it was 1.5.x, and it would prompt you whether or not to accept the update to 1.6.x. This was on a machine that never had minecraft installed at all. YMMV

Yo spraggy there is a recommended Bukkit build for 1.6.6 now... you should backup and update the server.

After many pains in my *******s, we are now updated to the latest version. Bukkit is also updated etc and afaik all the plugins work.

Ok guys, gonna get rid of the buildlist and replace with new system. You can now protect stuff you have built with blocks.

Placing a soulsand creates a 41x41x41 area that only you can build in.
Placing a sponge creates a 41x41x41 area that only you can build in.

To get the items use /kit sponge or /kit soulsand

To allow others to build in your areas use /ps allow PLAYERNAME

I suggest everyone protect what they've built with their stones. If there is overlap between areas obviously just add other trusted members to the list.

You should all be on the build list at the moment so can play. I will take the build list away once we all have our stuff protected.
