Spent the week tweaking the Rule of Law deck from CFB. Would love some feedback, is this well positioned within the meta? What should I be preparing for beyond Infect, American, Tron, Pod, UWR Twin, BGx Variants?

The Azorius Charms are mostly a test, I really didn't like Remand in the deck, tried 2 main deck Mindcensors didn't like those. I liked a 1 off Negate and maybe some extra Resto's would work. Seems like:

Good matchups are: Infect, Twin, Liliana decks, American Control and Midrange, Zoo.
Weak: Lifegain/hatebears.

Not sure about Pod, went 0-2 once with weaker draws but I can see them having a lot of tools against the deck. Haven't played much Tron either but seems favorable.

Yea a lot of shady ppl in Yugioh (alth some pretty cool ppl too); due to the amount of money the cards can go for and how easy the game is at the basic level. I would be more worried about someone stealing my bag/folder/deck at an event or someone trying to cheat me at a tournament.

Thoughts on Gruul Aggro? There is a standard GP coming up and need a deck and was considering it.

Solid. I like Brian Kibler's current Gruul style decks with Thundermaws and Wolfir Silverhearts at the top end of the curve.

Easily the best deck in Standard IMO given it's current invisibility (look for Brian Kibler's latest build on SCG). It's something like:
-4x Arbor
-4x BTE
-4x Boar
-3x Gyre Sage
-4x Rampager
-2-3x Wolfir Silverheart
-2-3x Thundermaw
-3x-4x Domri

21-22 lands and add in some 3 drops like Wolfir Avenger and Borderland Ranger (replaces lands in the 4x Domri version) some Mizzium Mortars to taste.

I feel like the deck does everything right in terms of how to deck build for a standard meta game where it is (heavily creature oriented but diverse) by playing basically the most efficient drops and being light on anything that isn't 3/3+.

I wasn't talking about GR midrange which now has evolved into Jund aggro, I was talking about Saito Gruul Aggro

http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=1093140

I have been playing GR midrange online ever since Kibler started playing it () then switched to Jund aggro when I saw Cedric stream the deck few weeks before Seattle eventually selling the deck off after his Seattle top 4.

http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=1117324

I am considering Saito's list even tho its not as good as the Jund, its obv cheaper but it might be in such a bad position right now, that its not even worth playing which case I should just play Jund Aggro right?

Thoughts on whether I should fetch Breeding Pool and take 2 or just Forest in these hands turn 1 on the play?

They are both in a Modern DE, the 1st hand is at 2-0, the 2nd at 3-0. I did not recognize opponents so had no idea what I would be playing against other than a slight nudge towards better decks cause of record.

I'm down to playtest Modern or get ghosted anytime this week. Also going to try and post a bunch of Clique decisions.

Here is a decision from awhile ago, I don't remember much, other than it's game 3 and he's UW Control. No clue why I decided to Clique on my own attack phase, I'm sure it was wrong. That said, what we taking?

I'll test with you some Tomato. I'm going to Portland and plan on playing a lot of modern over the next two weeks (even against my roommate who is going and the reason I am going to Portland instead of SCG Charlotte, though that means I have to test against his mono black discard every day - bleh). I'm playing RWU Gifts, and while not that big of a % of the metagame, it's basically just RWU control with the Cryptics and Electrolyzes removed for the Gifts package, so it should not be too much of a time waster

I think I grab basic forest in both hands. I'm not terribly concerned with missing the third blue source by turn 4 with Visions in hand, but I am concerned with getting run over by an aggro deck with both of those hands. I could easily be wrong, especially given that in the 2-0 and 3-0 brackets you are going to find less super aggro decks like Burn and Gruul Aggro, but both of those hands can get overrun fairly quickly so my intuition would be to grab a forest.

We have plenty of lands, and he has two Mindcensors, so Mindcensor is out. He won't get a body from Clique, so Clique is out (plus if he targets us with Clique we get to laugh). He only has three lands and one in hand, so Revelation is out. That leaves us with Cryptic and Path. He'll be able to cast Cryptic next turn, but we aren't really afraid of getting anything countered or bounced for now, which has me leaning toward Path (which gets better due to the Mindcensors). Path is also likely his only way to deal with a decent size Goyf. I think Path is the choice.

One thing that has me considering Cryptic over Path is the fact that Tarmogoyf isn't very big and is going to get smaller if you Snap for Tomorrow (and then gets blocked by Mindcensor). I think here we have to bank on drawing some action, since not drawing any means we almost certainly lose. His hand is loaded, he can kill our Clique with his (and target himself to ditch a Mindcensor) to slow our clock, and if he paths the Tarmogoyf then we just basically have nothing. And if we are going to draw some action, we don't really want him to have Cryptic.

It's a tough choice. My inclination is to take Path, but a strong part of me says that Cryptic is just going to shut us out of the game. I'll think about it some more while grocery shopping.

Edit: Another reason to not take Mindcensor is it's mostly there to stop Scapeshift, which gets stopped by Cryptic anyway. So taking Cryptic is probably just better than taking a Mindcensor.

Now that people are mostly going to stop boarding Stony Silences, I wonder if some green based deck just full of Thruns and Swords would be good in Modern. Ooh maybe even mono green with Leatherback Baloths and Dungrove Elders! Oh man it's time to brew...

Apparently, the best card to try and cheat multiples into play in Cube is Mesmeric Fiend. It's better than Jace/Sower/Removal obv.

That last one is a Nightmare Horror Ninja Artifact.

The only reason that we don't have a 4th Mesmeric Fiend is that:

Villain casted Sower of Temptation targeting my Glen Elendra which is actually a Phyrexian Metamorph. I Tragic Slip his guy, maintain priority and Sac Phyrexian Elendra and counter Slip.

Glen Elendramorph comes back and copies his Sower, which I use to steal his Sower. His Sower trigger fizzles.
