cube cube cube cube cube

Had this gem where I smashed an 8-4 without much trouble:

Also had a weird deck where I P1P1 Treachery, P2P1 FoF, then mana artifact, and end up mono-red (debated splashing). Lost in the finals to a G/x ramp deck where I wanted to bring in the blue tranny surprise, but didn't.

(Wasn't the final build but was close)

I assumed it would be closer to paper magic where you could at least sell/trade your singles to take the edge off, but it doesn't look even remotely feasible.

Oh well... lesson learned. Back to magic-league when I just really need a M:tG fix I guess.
Redeem.

M12 is currently worth next to nothing because of the looming M13 release date. Most packs can be sold for around 3.2-3.8 depending on the set and current cycle, but I think m12 is currently worth <2? This would also be part of why you were crushing the ques; no serious players are drafting m12 because there is no value. Core sets will also have fewer "money rares" than other sets.

Anyone know of any cube videos I can watch?

Search Channel Fireball. There are good cube videos by LSV and Martell that I enjoy.

My absolute favourite cube draft of all time:
Travis Woo Cube draft #1

Unfortunately the HD option doesn't work, but it's worth squinting through.

Most of the other Channel Fireball cube videos are good too. This google link should help you find them.

Numot the Nummy is a pretty solid limited player who streams. He made a functional though obviously not good storm deck last night.

Wow, it looks a lot better. I wonder if the three-letter names can watch replays.

I can't wait for this, looks much better and has a bunch of great new functionality. Trade binders and queues in the play area are my two favorite. I wish they had implemented some kind of auction house instead of the crappy classifieds. Hopefully now that they have the UI sorted out they can start working on an iPad version of MTGO.

of course it's not worth it, that's not the point

it's the best format ever, that's the reward

also everyone is forced into play 8-4s because no other queue makes sense so you get the lolza bad people in the most financially rewarding ones

i still will probably come out ahead

if you played a 4322 yeah you lost tix, gotta play 8-4s. they are just as easy. quality of opponents is just as bad with the exception of the random LSV/PV/whatever, and most of them don't cube that much so it's not like you're playing them in AVR where it's a format they've practiced 200 times

It was 8-4. Ols is being bought for 5. So I may have broken even

I routinely sell OLS for 6 no problem, and 7 if I'm patient. Don't sell for 5.

If you have leftover TPF from the last cube draft, you can sell OLS + TPF for 13. Just list the stuff in the Marketplace and wait.

I saw humans selling for 5 so I assumed thats what they went for. Still wanna be paid in packs worth something. Did an ols draft yesterday and paid 14 to do it assuming the packs weren't so cheap. Feel like an idiot now

Cube floods the market. They need to do alternate pack entry or something. Tough problem to solve for Wizards; it's why it doesn't run full-time.

They can't pay tickets because it's illegal to do so.

Woah... Decided to draft swiss instead of 8-4 to make my tickets last and omg was it so much softer.

I got a 5th pick survival of the fittest, 3rd last pick upheavel, 4th pick tinker.
So nuts.
Went 2-0, 2-0, 2-0 and no games were remotely scary.

Highlights of the deck included,
Mystical Tutor
Survival of the fittest
Sundering Titan
Channel
Upheavel
Tinker

Bunch of ramp, All the green walls, a couple sweet finishers and a bunch of green mid-range creatures that served various utility (lifegain, destroy artifact/enchantment etc).
Should never be able to assemble this deck.

If you get a really strong/fast combo deck it's basically unbeatable because counter magic is pretty hard to stock up on and the agro decks just can't kill you fast enough.

(could be biased by how easy this draft was tho)
