pretty sure theyre gonna fix that rules mess btw.

we had some examples on the german forums whoch truly shocked me

1) u play the elf.dec and go off. in response to a glimpse trigger ur opponent brain frezes ur whole library. u can chose not to draw a card.

2) u cast loxodon hierarch. with the lifegain trigger on the stack ur opponent casts false cure. u can chose not to gain life.

Well just did an ACR block (ugh) draft. First time drafting in two months. Had fun - don't know why they don't switch it back to true ACR. Anyway, think this went ok. Would have liked to have more fixing in the deck. Probably would have been worth the bigger white splash for crystallization/oring (if I felt comfy picking them).

Made one big mistake in the draft (walked into cycled resounding silence when I didn't need to). Then won the match in Game 3 with 5 seconds left on my clock. I really need to play faster when talking on skype.

Anyway, here's the draft if anyone is bored and wants to comment.

So it seems like they have mostly reversed the ill-advised rules change.

This sounds good, and it seems like they are going to try to come up with something that addresses the worst aspects of the previous system without all the awfulness that the new rules invited. I really wonder what they are doing when they come up with changes like these that they reverse soon after because they are terrible.

How do they even put out a functional CCG? I was going to compare them to some old Sci-Fi themed CCG that just totally tanked, but I can't even remember the name and it was so awful I can find no trace of it on the internet. So I guess they haven't reached that level. But soon I'm sure.

Galactic Empires!

I remember this being unplayably bad, but apparently it had some success.

Nice pool. I don't like the Delver, though. Only 7 cards to trigger it means that it's a 1/1 a little too often for my tastes. I realize you're creature-light, but I don't think that guy's a quality creature in your deck.

Sensory Deprivation is a fine card, as is Blazing Torch.

GL, play well, hope you win, etc.

Awesome pool, definitely play Interloper over Delver and Torch over Dissipate though. And with that much removal Grimoire would be awesome, I would probably play that over the second Alchemy.

I would not play Grimoire of the Durdle, but I would definitely make room for Vampire Interloper in your deck. I think cut the Delver for it - he will get in more points of damage in general. I don't think getting the Torch in there is necessary as you have enough real removal and don't want to give up the tempo. I have only drafted though and not played ISD sealed, so maybe I am judging the format wrong.

It's 8 cards to flip delver with moan, and yes this is a little light. Delver is a reasonable lightning rod if it flips and can trade with some random guys like the 3/1 lifelinker if it doesnt. This deck needs speedbumps.

Vampire interloper is trash in this deck. There is no world in which my deck is trying to race. I have a ton of card advantage and can answer all of their bombs if the game goes late.

Torch is generally garbage in a 13 creature deck that doesn't want to attack, especially with only 2 guys that cost 2 or less mana. Not to mention the deck already has 2 more efficent ways to deal with creatures that have 2 toughness.

Dissipate was the worst card in the main, and got boarded out a decent amount of the time, normally for sensory deprivation if their deck was fast or night terrors when the deck was super bomb or flashback heavy.

Grimoire is not good in a deck that already has the lategame locked up, especially when: most of my removal RFG's the opponents creatures; I can't discard excess lands to it because I need to hit 7 lands for my deck to work; and I only have 12 creatures it can return.

Top8 draft was a huge dissapointment. First picked manor gargoyle, into brimstone volley in a decent pack with the next best red card being watchkeep, followed by 2 geistcatcher's rigs in mediocre packs. I was pretty sure the bump in the night that was in my first pack was going to table to me 9th pick, so i was looking to move into R/B. Took some mediocre red cards (harvest pyre, riot devils, village ironsmith). The two best black cards that I saw and picked up in the first 8 picks were brain weevil and the 5/1 snake, both in weak packs. The bump lapped, as did the wachkeep somehow (with another playable red card in the pack, so it seemed open). Second pack had no B/R playables so I picked mayor because my black is poop at this point. Continued to see no black cards and some R/G durdle creatures like boar and pitchburn devils, which I took. My open in pack 3 was another brick, with no cards that I was confident I wanted to maindeck and ended up taking a demonmail hauberk that I didnt play. I never want to be in RG but it just seemed like the packs didn't cooperate

Is there some place to watch some MTGO games with commentary? Something like someone casting or stuff like that. Even just a decent/good player just playing normal matches.

Was just watchng a few vids on youtube but I only found a moron that keeps hitting yes to mulligan by accident.

Channelfireball have some videos of good players. See something like: http://www.channelfireball.com/artic...-inn-draft-15/

To pimp my own company, there are a few good people who broadcast live on twitch.tv. It all gets recorded, so you can watch a replay of e.g. Tom Martell doing a draft here: http://www.twitch.tv/semisober/b/303457628?t=3m0s.

Tabako, thanks for the card explanations. I had forgotten that Sever exiles the creatures, so that makes Grimoire significantly worse. I was thinking the torch would make Interloper not quite as bad, though I suppose it works just as well on Delver. It also works just fine in a deck with a good number of 3 drops in my experiene, and it works well with Moan, but if you don't want to swap out Delver for Interloper then I guess you can't really afford to give up the Dissipate either. Torch just works better in control decks, and while you won't be able to use it on the first two or three turns usually, it's mostly a card that makes it a bit more difficult for your opponent to attack once you have it equipped on somebody. I also must have just blanked when I glanced over the rest of your creatures; I was thinking you were going to have a little trouble getting damage through if your opponent were able to answer your Murder/Goliath, but you do have plenty of fliers, so Interloper is not as important as I thought and his drawback is of course quite significant in your deck. After looking at it some more, I think your picks were better than my suggestions. Thanks again for the explanations.
