Sounds like he just had a good read. (i.e. that you're a panty-waste and instead of sticking up for yourself you would just whine to people later)

Yeah I'm obviously extremely upset about losing a trading card game that I had about $2 invested in since I decided to run home and post about it on an anonymous internet forum over a month later. Thanks for playing.

It wasn't about being a pussy it was about being in disbelief that a person actually angleshot a casual player as hard as he did. I knew what he was doing and why he did it, I admit I should have said something about the angleshoot but I honestly didn't care enough to cause a fuss over it because it was so odd and saddening to know that someone who is at least somewhat well-known in the card game would blatantly do this to a casual player who he assumed didn't know any better. That was the reason for the disbelief, because I knew that he didn't know that I knew that he was taking advantage of me saying I was a casual player.

The three hours of sleep from the drive to Indiana + the annoyance of having to talk to him for any longer than necessary at that point far out-weighed the EV disadvantage I could overcome from getting to re-roll the dice.

OK, well what I got from the story is you were a pussy and a whiner. FYI.

Edited: Changed "are" to "were" since it's presumptuous to assume he is those things just because he displayed those characteristics once.

What I get from this thread is that you have the maturity of a 13 year old.

Lost to a dbl-clicking misclick with my broken mouse in game 3 of round 2 when I had a guaranteed win condition to get in to the finals. Clearly I wanted to sac the 7/7 vampire to itself, thanks online client!

I thought the deck was pretty cool for an 84 and am super tilty.

Realistically that Br list is, like, "a deck". The designers clearly put it in to the format on purpose and knowing the ideal form of the complete deck lets us slide in to it more easily during the draft. When a new set comes out, do you guys try to figure out these decks in advance, or is that what the first few losses are for?

I just mean there's at least 3-4 obvious colour combinations that usually pop up in drafting (WU, BR, GR, BU sometimes) .. do you guys actually lay out what kind of decks are possible in some sort of simulation so that you have these archetypes to quickly slide in to? Realistically having a deck in mind that you're "filling in" from very early on in the draft seems like a huge advantage. Is this a standard theoretical part of MTG drafting that everyone does that I've just been neglecting?

P.S. what ARE the good decks in M11, anyways? Br, UW flyers, white weenie/Wu unsummoning, mono black... occasionally green... and?

I just force UB control every draft regardless of whatever happens

Unless I open something ridiculous of course

And I think Wu fish/skies is clearly the most consistant deck in the format, mono black is that even a deck? and I'd stay away from green with a ten foot pole

I've had a fair amount of success with mono black. Most of the decks I put together have 5+ removal spells, some Sign in Bloods, some Liliana's Specters, and a Gravedigger or two. By the time I can get a Nightwing Shade online around turn 15, it usually just wins. I'm probably running well with everyone fighting over W/U and leaving black open though FWIW.

monoblack is a deck for sure. quag sickness is pretty broken in that deck, as is corrupt.

Green is super strong. Greater Basilisk is one of the best creatures in the format.
