Played the prerelease; went 3-1 as I ran bad and got paired up against the only other player there who had a clue at sealed. The average person is awful when it comes to live sealed events.

First impressions of WWake so far in limited:

Force black every opportunity you get; it's that good.

Blue is substantially weaker in the commons compared to ZEN, and it shows.

White's pretty solid top to bottom, and Join the Ranks is THE card that can make an ally deck work. Had some pretty stupid draws with T2+3 ally, T4 JTR.

Red and Green took a dip in power level. Red is pretty 'meh' after Searing Blaze, and Green currently relies on abusing landfall but gets no help from this set.

The Zendikons are better and worse than I thought. They are better because they effectively have "haste". This makes the G/B ones best, R okay, U merely bad, and W unplayable.

The lands are some of the best cards in the set, and should be solid picks. Sejiri Steppe might as well say "target creature is unblockable until EOT". The free token from Khalni Garden is an amazing free chump.

Kitesail, Kitesail, Kitesail. Those who didn't have this lost to those who did.

I don't agree with some of this but meh.

Jesus christ so many people cheat. I went to my second ever prerelease (after zend) and the exact same people I thought were cheating last time showed up and were clearly passing cards again. Sigh. I beat every reasonable deck I faced to end up 4-2 (good for 3 extra packs.. woo?) but I got CRUSHED by the best sealed deck I have literally ever seen in my entire life.

1 of the lion kird apes, 2 survivalists, 1 turntimber ranger, 2 join the ranks, 1 ondu cleric, 1 of the 1 drop allies, 1 blademaster, 1 gigantiform, 1 novablast wurm, 1 basilisk collar, 1 vines, 2 groundswell, 1 graypelt hunter. Also a marsh threader and a cliff threader.

What. The. ****. I don't care what this guy said or that he let me look through his deck after our match. This deck is a mathematical impossibility.

It should read 'Artifact Creature - Construct' like it does in the gatherer.wizards.com errata.

Damn, I thought a 2/2 flier swinging on turn 2 was pretty solid, as far as the zendikons go. Agree that the white one is bad, though.

The 2/2 for U zendikon is bad because you want to play it on turn 4 or 5, not turn 2. Too often I saw it played only to attack once or twice and tap for mana the rest of the time.

Forcing black in sealed is silly and nonsensical. You can't really "force" black in this block and there's tons of cards that would make me switch out. The three top decks at my event didn't have black.

The land enchants are pretty much terrible, and although I can see the green token land being useful on occasion I think the white one is just the shiniest turd in a giant heap of poop.

Either way sealed ZZZWWW seems pretty unfinished so far. Definitely needs the third set to make this a workable sealed formula.

Oh yeah and don't go three colours. lol. God so many stupid ppl going three colours.

You said limited 2 sentences away from talking about your sealed event. Hardly facepalmy.

There's not going to be a "third set". The next set, Rise of the Eldrazi, will be a large set and will be standalone for limited play. (Although it will still be part of Zendikar Block Constructed.)

Well nobody ever says to force something in sealed so he clearly meant booster draft, which I'm sure you know also is a limited format. (Pretty much nobody ever discusses sealed strat because it's worthless.)

I'm really looking forward to building a Coil Trader deck.

Also, should I sell my T2 Crypt deck, since it'll be pretty much useless once all of the graveyard hate comes out, or should I just hang onto it?

Is there any reliable way to short sell magic cards? I feel like you can make a killing shorting abyssal persecutor and jace.

My buddy ended up feeling the same vs :

3 join the ranks
3 trample allies
2 oran rief survivalists
ugh now i cant remember- 3 of another ally that is good.
All but 2 creatures were allies in a GW deck w/ none of the garbage Joraga bard or anything like that.

Its doubtful the bojuka marsh will kill the deck as crypt was always a fringe deck and I don't know any deck that would run it in the sb- crypt isn't dredge where every other deck ran 4x leyline.

But won't people be siding a ton of Relics now to side in against Coil Trader as well?

Maybe if coil trader became competitive, but aorn that list looks very casual

Coil Trader is an awful deck. It needs a 1/1 to live to complete its' combo. Oh, and it has zero counters or prevention. Yeah.
Magic: The gathering Online Quote

Yeah, why are we discussing this as if it's a real deck?

Okay, some elaborate on this idea.

Ad Nauseam with Treasure Hunt with a considerable amount of lands into Immortal Coil.

You like rogue decks, and that's cool.

The decks worst match-up is anyone playing Burst Lightning/Terminate/Counterspells/etc. That's at least 90% of the field that's basically un-winnable.
