First impressions of WWake so far in limited:
Force black every opportunity you get; it's that good.
Blue is substantially weaker in the commons compared to ZEN, and it shows.
White's pretty solid top to bottom, and Join the Ranks is THE card that can make an ally deck work. Had some pretty stupid draws with T2+3 ally, T4 JTR.
Red and Green took a dip in power level. Red is pretty 'meh' after Searing Blaze, and Green currently relies on abusing landfall but gets no help from this set.
The Zendikons are better and worse than I thought. They are better because they effectively have "haste". This makes the G/B ones best, R okay, U merely bad, and W unplayable.
The lands are some of the best cards in the set, and should be solid picks. Sejiri Steppe might as well say "target creature is unblockable until EOT". The free token from Khalni Garden is an amazing free chump.
Kitesail, Kitesail, Kitesail. Those who didn't have this lost to those who did.
I don't agree with some of this but meh.
Jesus christ so many people cheat. I went to my second ever prerelease (after zend) and the exact same people I thought were cheating last time showed up and were clearly passing cards again. Sigh. I beat every reasonable deck I faced to end up 4-2 (good for 3 extra packs.. woo?) but I got CRUSHED by the best sealed deck I have literally ever seen in my entire life.
1 of the lion kird apes, 2 survivalists, 1 turntimber ranger, 2 join the ranks, 1 ondu cleric, 1 of the 1 drop allies, 1 blademaster, 1 gigantiform, 1 novablast wurm, 1 basilisk collar, 1 vines, 2 groundswell, 1 graypelt hunter. Also a marsh threader and a cliff threader.
What. The. ****. I don't care what this guy said or that he let me look through his deck after our match. This deck is a mathematical impossibility.
