Let's talk about Stream and buy mountains of games - Page 934 - Video Games

Epic Store is in a similar place as Steam was eight or ten years ago. The Steam sales that people like to reminisce about (getting whole franchises for 90% off and stuff like that) happened when Steam was trying to build up their storefront. Now, Steam has no reason to do things like that.

Epic is obviously never going to get to where Steam is since Steam was first in, but they seem to be willing to spend a ton of money trying.

Because they haven't had to. There have been multiple instances where Epic has bought 1 year exclusivity to a game and once the exclusivity period is over the game sells more in the preorder period on Steam then it did in a year on Epic. EGS is just a fortnite launcher.

If you don't care which storefront you use, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online can be had for $9.79 total on Epic. Buy Red Dead Online for $4.99 using the $10 coupon. When you install it and run it, there is a Story Mode option at the top. Clicking that gives you the offer to buy story mode for $4.80.

as for Graveyard Keeper, I got it a while ago and for someone who really doesn't like lifesim games (Stardew Valley almost bored me to death), I had a decent amount of fun - it's much more streamlined than SD, at least at the beginning, always giving you some goals achievable in a reasonable amount of time. Writing is also pretty good.

btw really curious as to what the last 2 epic freebies will be, I'm hoping for a decent indie metroidvania, though at this point I feel like I might have played them all

Salt and Sanctuary today. More Souls-like than Metroidvania, but it might scratch your itch. I liked it a lot.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a trilogy of Tomb Raider (2016), Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
