I wanted to mention a well known game which could have been forgotten already by some. Shovel Knight is much more than what it used to be. There are now four campaigns in the game, Shovel Knight, Plague of Shadows, Spectre Knight and King of Cards. Every campaign is way different than the other and I'm currently on my last one. Despite being able to recognise some of the levels each campaign feels like a brand new game. Each character moves differently and has different skills and the levels are adjusted for that. I honestly think Shovel Knight was the weakest, when I think about it, so if you liked it and you played the game many years ago before these campaigns where made you're in for a treat.

I completed the shovel knight play through before they released the free DLC with other characters. I liked the game but I rmbr it not being all that difficult. Are the new campaigns tougher?

I found the new campaigns easier to be honest, shovel knight was the most difficult for me.

Loop hero is pretty fun for a game about walking around in a loop.

I just beat Yoku's Island Express and I was surprised how cool it is. Not too difficult adventure x metroidvania x pinball (!) all with pretty cool graphics and music

yeah, it was on sale for like 1$ recently and I got it and it's pretty fun, not a big fan of pinballs, but this is executed really well. I'm maybe half way through, playing it in 30 min bits every now and then

Well, I'm in isolation and let my WoW sub expire therefore I have time in the evenings for more games.

I've been really enjoying The Messenger. It was given away by Epic Games some time ago. It's a masterpiece platformer with SNES graphics, starts off fairly easy but keeps it interesting, very self-aware, some of the humour is hilarious some of the humour is great if you're 12-15 . Full of twists, I can't wait what's to come. Amazing soundtrack. I'm probably only 25-30% in but I already can tell the whole game is great.

Crusader Kings 3 is having a free weekend until 21st:

edit: just beat The Messenger, not perfect, but pretty awesome. Took me 10 hours with all seals. It's not super difficult as checkpoints aren't rare.

Some modder found a fix to cut loading times in GTA Online by 70% and Rockstar implemented it as a patch:

https://nee.lv/2021/02/28/How-I-cut-...g-times-by-70/

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/d...-by-70-percent
https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articl...-loading-times

Might be crucial info for some as I suspect 90% of people who insta quit GTA Online it was mostly because of loading times. I might give it a shot again.

I bought Don't Starve awhile ago. Since then, I've played it on and off and usually ended dying fairly quickly. I then put it back on the shelf.

Well, I gave it another try the other day but I turned off Reign of Gods. That seemed to help a ton by simplifying the game. Now I just need to figure out how to survive winter...

Yeah every DLC is a step up in difficulty, I think it's typical in survival games? So watch out for that.

edit: CrossCode demo pretty short (30 minutes) but I can see the potential, especially when it seems that 90% of the game wasn't shown to me. Cool control scheme that feels awkward at first but is probably really well designed. I'll most likely wait for sale to get it.

Awww damn, they had a 50% sale last week.

Got gamepass? It's on there

just got 3000th Duel for like 8$ on steam (the game is -50% for 3 more days) and it looks quite interesting, it's a metroidvania clearly inspired by Valdis Story, but with a bit more responsive controls and not as colourful artstyle

Come to think of it, I'm surprised that there aren't more games trying to emulate Valdis Story, it's a bit of a cult classic and I enjoyed that formula a lot (though I got stuck on a boss and never bothered finishing it)

Total War: ROME REMASTERED lets you relive the legacy that defined the award-winning strategy game series. Remastered to 4K with multiple improvements to visuals as well as refinements to gameplay, it’s time to revisit a true classic. Not everyone gets a second chance to conquer the Roman Empire.

ROME REMASTERED includes the Alexander and Barbarian Invasion DLCs, as well as a copy of the original ROME: Total War Collection*, if you don’t already own it.

Improved Visuals
ROME REMASTERED brings the classic Rome visuals up to date, with 4K optimization, ultra-widescreen and native UHD resolution support. This visual upgrade extends across a multitude of features, including re-modeled buildings and objects, and environment effects like dust clouds and heat haze. The refreshed campaign maps also boasts new high-resolution models, and units have been remodelled and retextured to look their very best on the battlefield.

Modern Features
ROME REMASTERED includes a host of modern features and improvements to existing mechanics. The in-game camera has been enhanced, including map rotation and wider zoom level in Campaign mode. Heat maps and new icon overlays have been added for gameplay mechanics such as diplomacy and security. In Battle, the new tactical map, unit displays and range markers give you greater command over Rome’s battlefields.

Enhanced Game Mechanics
Players can now expand their armies and experience 16 additional factions that were previously locked, giving a grand total of 38 playable factions. In a first for Total War, you can now take your favourite faction to battle against friends in cross-platform multiplayer between Windows, macOS and Linux. A whole new agent type has also been added to the fray; Merchants can be sent all over the world to create trade links, access resources and buy out rivals to increase your income and assert your faction’s economic power.

Half-Price Offer
To celebrate the return of Rome, we have an offer for those loyal fans that already own the original game on Steam. If you already own ROME: Total War, you can purchase ROME REMASTERED for half-price until May 31st, 16:00 PDT.

Rome II was never really able to match up to the original for me, of which I've clocked thousands of hours. Feral did some amazing work with the mobile ports of RTW1, I'm pretty excited to see this.
