I don't really see much value is resurrecting the franchise at this point. The story ended neatly in BG2:ToB and all the writers/designers have moved on. The game might still be good, of course.

I'm assuming it has nothing to do with the original story-wise - just set in the same universe and using the same D&D rules.

It is set in same universe, but uses 5th edition rules, not adjusted 2nd edition.

This is what has my interest piqued. 5th edition is the cleanest ruleset by far, have had a 5e campaign running for over two years.

Early call: this game will not be good.

Is Borderlands: The Pre Sequel worth playing?

I'm playing it right now as it's available for a neat price. It's more Borderlands and not in a bad way. Low gravity is a neat gimmick, weapons are decent and I have not seens the stupid slag mechanic (use one gun to debuff then another to damage), so that's a plus for me.

It's a mindless looter/shooter with hit or miss comedy and good production values, but for 4 bucks it's a great buy.

Far Cry Primal, Watchdogs 2, and Ghost Recon Wildlands are all $5 in the Epic Store ($15 minus $10 discount).

Also, I've heard people talk about Enter the Gungeon - it's free June 13-20.

Silly question, what is epic games? Why do I need a downloader for it, and what's it going to do?

Having a brief look through, there are definitely some stuff I'm interested in (mainly the free ones...)

Because I'm pulling the trigger, there is basically a 100% chance now that it will be part of an upcoming HB monthly bundle or EPIC free game.

it's sick that Enter The Gungeon is the next free game, since August 2018 (when AD&D update hit) one of my favourite games ever.

I see the game Outer Wilds is also part of the Epic sale. $15 seems like a pretty decent price for a fairly unique game. You got puzzles, adventure, space ships and orbital mechanics.

Game description from Epic:
Quote:
Outer Wilds is an open world mystery about a solar system trapped in an endless time loop.

Welcome to the Space Program!
You’re the newest recruit of Outer Wilds Ventures, a fledgling space program searching for answers in a strange, constantly evolving solar system.

Mysteries of the Solar System...
What lurks in the heart of the ominous Dark Bramble? Who built the alien ruins on the Moon? Can the endless time loop be stopped? Answers await you in the most dangerous reaches of space.

Lots of replayability per level to try to get all 5 stars (under a certain time limit + two other conditions), which is usually too hard on your first try until you play it and get a sense of what your ideal supply chain should look like.

The formula has changed a little - now each map starts with a couple cities that supply workers and want certain products, and you generate those products by sending workers to factories, which make products (some of which are intermediate, i.e. iron ore to supply to another factory that turns them into steel ingots) to send back to other factories/cities. It's more interesting than the first game, which was just "send this train to this other station", as it requires you to plan out the order you're going to build things.

Bump - I finished the 50 levels of the main game and decided to try some Steam Workshop levels people have made. Some of them are...actually pretty good?

Just wanted to plug this again, as it's a really wonderful game you can get a lot of time out of (even more than I thought, with user maps!).

I mean, there must be something seriously wrong with EA when even though I avoid it at all costs I run into a comical issue while testing out free trial for Origin Access. I have installed Titanfall 2 and I noticed it installed itself in Polish, my Origin client was in Polish (I usually have programs in english) so I changed the language there and I thought it would fix itself. Not enough. I needed to go to game settings and change the language there - but on the list I have only polish and russian available because I'm in Poland - LOL. Turns out they don't offer English audio/translation here, jfc.

It is, the time loop function is an incredibly cool way to manage exploration and makes you essentially create your own subquests because you know you only have so much time to do whatever it is that you're gonna do this loop.

And then each loop you learn new stuff and get new locations to investigate, so you reorder your "to-do" list, it's super engaging. Controls are a bit fiddly, the zero-G inside a structure navigation isn't really fun because you're just fighting with trying to orient yourself, but it's got a cool consistent aesthetic and everything is nicely polished on a technical level. The spaceflight stuff actually models gravity so you cannot plot a course too close to the Sun if you're trying to cross the solar system lol you'll get pulled in, you gotta chart yourself an elliptical.

I refunded it though, feels like a lazy Dosbox port and it's missing episodes even though it's labelled as a complete pack. I think I played only episodes 1 and 4-6. (6 is one of the missing ones).
