Problem is mainly that all of these games have been on sale a million times before, I assume if anyone really wanted one of them they would have picked it up already.
Good games on sale for Halloween:
Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines - $5
Borderlands GOTY - $7.50
Fear Collection - $6.80
Left 4 Dead - $6.80
Left 4 Dead 2 - $6.80
Bioshock - $5
Bioshock 2 - $5
Plants vs. Zombies - $5
Dead Space Pack - $17
??? Stalker Bundle - $8.75
??? Resident Evil 5 - $10
I actually did end up buying Stalker: Call of Pripyat for $3.75 and I'll probably break down and buy Bioshock 2 even though I've played it already.
Borderlands is a great game to play coop with friends... One week is really quite a long time for non-competitive game to remain interesting imo. Most games with only single player campaign offer like 5-20 hours of gameplay, which is way less.
(at least if you're like me and play 50hr/week when you start playing something)
Sale at GOG.com on "scary" games is better than Steam's if you like adventure games. Gabriel Knight 1-3, Sanitarium and Phantasmagoria 1-2 are all 50% off, among others. I highly recommend GK1 and Sanitarium to anyone with any interest in adventure games.
Bleh bought Sword of the Stars 2 today. It came out a couple days ago and the first one is a very good Space 4X game. Well it turns out #2 was released primarily because the developer is utterly broke, it doesn't even seem to be in beta stage and doesn't run at all.

Is there a way to check if a redeem code is still valid? I have Portal 2 for the PS3 which comes with a free Steam PC version of the game. I bought it used, but the card with the code is still included and might not have been redeemed. I don't want to use it for myself - I'm going to sell it and want to be able to say whether or not the code works.
I remember buying the PS3 version and to unlock the PC version I had to be logged in on PS3 during the install so I'm not sure how easy it will be to sell that code.
Edit: Could have just been linking my PSN to my Steam ID that I'm thinking of.
Edit 2: Since the PS3 version is going to be linked to your Steam ID, the PC copy will be hard to sell since it needs to be on the same Steam account.

I am selling the whole game used is what I meant. It might or might not fetch a higher price on half.com if I can say the code still works.
gave titan quest a fair shot but it just didn't hook me, which probably speaks more to the fact that i'm just a blizzard zombie when it comes to the hack'n'slash, not many other games in the genre entertain me for long periods of time. probably would have better enjoyed just playing more d2.
moving onto BIOSHOCK for the first time, initial hour in and seems great. also bought bastion so that's next!
I gave up on titan quest as well. The pacing was too slow for me, I didn't like the greek mythology stuff, and I really miss the shine and polish of blizzard games. Just simple stuff like the look and feel of the interface.
