If I wanted to play one dark souls game on the ps3 which one should I get: dark souls, dark souls die more edition or dark souls 2?

Demon Souls, as its the only PS3 exclusive, play the rest on pc.

Don't buy Dark Souls 2 for PC, they're reworking it and releasing as a new game which is super shady.

The whole series is fine on PS3 then, the order is:

Demon Souls
Dark Souls: Prepare To Die ( Has the DLC included )
Dark Souls 2

tldr, just ignore dark souls as it doesnt have the dlc.

I started with DS2 and loved it. Then played DS1 and realized how unimpressive the sequel is in comparison. Dark Souls 1 is a flat out masterpiece that has a dark, grand scale to it which I've never experienced before. Get it, immediately. Only advice I'd give is to be deliberate with your attacks and movement when fighting, and don't be afraid to utilize online resources for information (but don't be too quick to jump online either).

sure it was blown out and from what I've seen they're proceeding correctly (I'm assuming it's smart PR now) but we didn't have to wait long for 'something' to come out. This just proves the point for not preordering and waiting for game to come out. Such big developers shouldn't need customer money for development.

1308 hours here, not so bad for 160+ games imo, but I wonder how does it count 'endless' games like spelunky, ck2, civ5 or even skyrim, I have 50-100 hours in them. And not to mention both isaacs.

Not sure why preorder-ers are so fierce defending these games/devs. You can still buy your game upon release, right? That's how it used to be. Instead you're trying to support bad business model HOPING that it will end up being good. I don't get it. Didn't we have enough number of controversies with this already to prove it is generally a bad idea?
