You know you're in bad shape when you can't even afford to buy steam games you won't ever play anymore

Great game.

Reviews are probably of the initial release. Game had two expansions which added two races and tons and tons and tons of new features and game play elements.

Game still has highly active community which is a huge sign of a good game.

Last day, any recommendations on the Genesis sale games?

I've only decided to get Shining In The Darkness, solely from my love of Shining Force 1/2.

Here's my reviews:
Comix Zone: Hard platformer, doubt it's aged well.

Gunstar Heroes: GET THIS GAME, 2 player action shooter with lots of customization and replayability. The gameplay/battle system is great, you get to fight a whole bunch of unique enemies/levels and get to do fun stuff like throw bombs back at people.

Kid Chameleon: Kinda like Kirby, you get a lot of different powerups from enemies, decent game, some people really love it.

Shining Force 1/2: Great strategy RPG, if you like FFT like games, get this, it's where the genre really got off the ground.

Streets of Rage 1/2: Fun 2 player beat em up, probably hasn't aged well.

Vectorman: Awesome platformer at it's time, maybe better than Sonic ones.

Sonic Spinball: Gimmicky Pinball game, OK.

Great series!! Lot of childhood memories playing those games.

The suikoden series was also great although they were on playstation.

My two 'most played' games ever were Civ4 and Age of Empires 2. I'm looking for something new in the same sort of genre, preferably historically based not fantasy. Can someone recommend something? It doesn't even have to be from steam, as long as I can download it.

The humble bundle is back. This time it's just Frozen Synapse but if you pay over the average you get the Frozenbyte bundle too (the previous bundle)

http://www.humblebundle.com/

Awesome idea for a good cause.

Thanks I'll check it out. Is there any others in that genre that compare with EU3 or is it the go-to game right now?

There really isn't anything comparable. If you are a fan of historical based strategy games, it is the best one out there.

Well, depends what you want. I for one always preferred Total Wars to EU as TW had some small roleplay aspect, actual combat, bit simpler empire managing and MUCH cleaner and better interface.

Has anyone played or heard anything good about the new Game of Thrones game? I saw when I logged on to Steam but I don't want to waste $40 on a game just put out to capitalize on the TV show/books.

So EU3 is basically a combo of Risk (which I love) and an RTS (not so keen on them generally)?

nvm, there's a demo. I'll check it out now.

Not really an RTS. Try this:

Also I'm guessing the demo is massively out of date.

It's really fun, but also really short. Something like 4-5 hours of co-op.

Free DLC just added some Co-op stuff but I've never played Co-op so I don't know how much it adds.

I rented portal 2 for the xbox and loved it. Is there enough DLC or user-created maps to make it worth getting it for the PC?
