I used to think like this, but now I'm strongly in the camp that taste is subjective, and mine isn't better than anyone else's. If I want to play Europa and someone else wants to play Barbie's Fashion Adventure, or I want to watch The Wire and someone else wants to watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians, then who am I to judge how they should spend their free time?

That being said, I watched about 15s of the linked video of that guy and couldn't take it anymore.

His target audience is early and pre teens. Unless you're 13 or a very immature/underdeveloped adult, you're not supposed to get it. I don't like him but I don't mind if people do, just don't link his **** or talk about him in a thread about steam ffs.

Here have a game: 90YGN-LCTJX-LIAHW

79MB may be the smallest game I've ever had on Steam. Outside of the four Doom games, anyway. Thanks!

No problem. I think Super Hexagon at 32mb is probably the smallest I've got and shame on anyone who doesn't own that game.

I got the new AoW too. I can't really get into it.

I need to stop getting games based on the fact I absolutely loved them when I was in my early teens - it only seems to lead to disappointment.

How are you playing it? I have not touched the campaign yet.

To get the most out of it playing random map you really have to get the map generation settings right to align with the economy and balance of the game. To big with to many cities and you have got all the highest tier units and structures before you have even seen 10% of the map.

Crowded medium map with few cities seems to create the best strategic tension.

Yeh I think it was a mistake I started the campaign, and the ridiculously dumbed down tutorial, which got me fed up straight away.

I'll have another go just playing just the game on a random map at some point.

Its a solid game waiting for an expansion to really push it over the edge imo.

They couldn't get the rights to SMAC's title, I guess, but the way they talk about the factions and the terraforming and everything, it's pretty clear that they aren't reinventing the wheel

I realize I'm quoting something from last summer but marvel heroes still has this same problem and it's even worse now because they introduced many new crafting items, runes and other "stuff" but didn't really do much to change the stash size by a noticeable amount.

I tried this game the other week for the first time and the stash limitations for a f2p player is a joke. You battle stash management constantly and you're forced to throw away almost everything (even good end game items) because there's no room.

No stash in an arpg is absolute death of the game.

The splinter grind is also absurd. It takes like 60 hours just to grind for a medium tier hero and closer to 100 for some of the more expensive ones because the splinters (the things you use to buy heroes) drop on a timer.

They even introduced "mercs" recently that also use the same splinters to buy and require grinding for 60-100 hours to buy one for a minuscule passive bonus because they die instantly in end game content.

Long story short, this is one of the worst f2p games I've ever played when it comes to trying to money grab customers. I already uninstalled without ever paying them and am happy for it. A lot of the heroes are really bad too and quite a few are extremely imbalanced.

Game has almost no content either. Expect to be max level in ~20 hours of game play and everything you do at max level is what you can do from pretty much the start of the game with 1 exception and that exception is just rehashing the old terminals with a higher difficulty level. The 20 hours assumes you go through the story mode 3 times too (1 for each difficulty), so it's similar to diablo in that sense.

The only problem is all of the unique items drop at any level and scale up, so there's no incentive to really do anything. I had level 35 unique boots and then re-found the same boots at level 60. Some of the stats were worse. The only thing I gained was a bit of defense and like 0.2% more paper DPS. It's not fun when most of your item slots don't get upgraded by anything noticeable. I found myself just filling my bag up with junk and vendoring everything without looking because it was guaranteed to be worse than what I had.

All builds are the same too when it comes to items. You pretty much get 3-5 uniques for each hero and you're done with basic items. Most heroes only have 1 or 2 viable items for each gear slot (5 slots) and they are pretty easy to get too.

Just an update on a recent deal I linked here regarding Wargame Red Dragon.

Seems like a few days ago Eugen Systems decided to make the game region restricted for unknown reason ( after the last games were not restriced in any way ).

I linked a Nuveem offer ITT, that I bought too. I just emailed nuveem about a refund and they sent the money back on my visa 2 hours later no questions asked. If someone bought the game too and may be hit by region lock, just ask for a refund.

I heard VPN works too, but to be honest, i'm too scared to try it for a 10€ rebate.

A look at Steam sales, popular games, and hours spent. Apparently Football Manager is hugely popular and buying a lot of games but not having the time to play them is extremely common
