Imho borderlands 2 is a 6/10 playing solo and a 10/10 if played with friends or someone else. It is f-ing amazing and somehow it keeps getting more and more interesting the longer you play it.

The 4-pack for $30 is a sick steal and get the season pass as well!

How does buying 4packs work? Do you get gift copies?

I have 100h+ on Shogun. I think it is the most polished and best Total War yet, although it could have been so much more. Medieval Total War 2 is also worth picking up (take the collection with Kingdoms add-on). It is -75% and the one I'm most likely to still play in 10 years. Oh right, if you end up picking Shogun I'll be happy to do some multiplayer battles.

Fallout:NV is great. I'm actually little bit sad it is so cheap.

Yes they are and it sucks. I usually have friends gift the games to me from US. I guess I should stop posting the images then, since a majority of you all are from US/UK.

NBA 2K13 is the best sports game you can buy but beware the PC version is lacking a bunch of features compared to the console version. Still awesome at that price though.

Oh this. I got only 10h in Borderlands 2 because I was playing solo and missions are getting very difficult relatively quickly (sometimes impossible) whereas co-op is a breeze. Didn't want to pug it with randoms so I quit.

Play it with friends or family only imo. Love it.

Agree. I managed to get pretty far solo with Zer0 before running into a complete brick wall after 20 hours or so. Tried a few different classes and they were even harder to solo. Maybe I'm not speccing the classes right or using the right weapons, but I've heard this complaint from enough others to think they just failed at balancing the game for solo play. Add the fact that with Borderlands 1 I think I maybe died a few times before beating the game makes me less inclined to think I just suck.

Are you doing any side quests? If you go straight through main quests you might be underleveled but if you do optional quests it's not hard.

I picked up F:NV and F3 w/ the 75% discounts, is any of the Shogun dlc worthwhile? or is the base game enough?

Rise of the Samurai is a complete new campaign that pre-dates the vanilla game in the time-line, with new units. Decent for a buck.

Blood DLC is cool, as it adds a nice amount of gore.

The rest is less imprtant, especially the new factions. Eh, not worth it imho, but it's cheap...

There is also Fall of the Samurai, which is a standalone expansion. It brings in heavy rifle firepower and tech from europe; set after the arrival of the US/euro powers ( same time as that movie with Tom Cruise ). Game loses the melee focus and moves heavily into ranged combat.

As always, knock yourself out with all the excellent mods.

I had almost the exact opposite experience with BL2. It was a ton of fun early/mid game but then I feel as though the fact that it felt obligated to wrap up the story really made the gameplay start to drag and kind of killed the light-hearted, zany vibe. It also peaked for me in terms of difficulty fairly early on. I've had no desire to play any of the DLC (even though I bought the season pass) or do another playthrough because my character is unbelievably overpowered and there is no challenge. And if there's no challenge there's really no incentive to play any game, but especially a primarily loot based game imo.

Yea genuine surprise at the BL2 is hard.

I found most of the game pretty easy and was most of the time over leveled to the missions, I had to manage my game play so as not to become too OP. Playing as Siren though. I played single player and really enjoyed it, am at 70hrs with no DLC.

Snagged the season pass earlier.

Getting FANV and Portal and I am done. Have not done much mainstream gaming for a while (confessed hardcore wargaming grog), this is a great op to get to grips with some great titles.

You don't need F3.

Rise of the Samurai is pretty pointless (pretty much same campaign as the main game expect different factions and some special rules.) and the gunpowder weapons from Fall of the Samurai just don't work well with TW interface. Neither affects the normal campaign in any way, both just offer their own campaigns.

I think I'd buy the Total War: Shogun 2 Collection instead of just the base game (costs 4€ more but comes with Rise of the Samurai + all small DLC).

Yeah I have seen this comment quite often online and I am quite surprised. I found the game quite easy. I think the problem with the game is that a lot of it depends on the gun you have and maybe many people ran bad with the loot.

After reading about the 'Thief Extraordinaire' build online I had to snap buy this. Sneaking around thieving and assassinating/planting explosives on my enemies sounds like way too much fun for $2.50.

Some builds:

Not sure if our small number of votes matter, but most of the titles I've been voting for community choice have been random (haven't heard of any of the titles). If there's something people really want to go on sale, post in the thread so we can all vote for it for those that do want a specific title. =]

Any thoughts on Hitman: Absolution for $6.24? I played the original Hitman back in the day and liked it, but know nothing about this newer game.
