somebody jog my memory, because Red Faction doesn't quite seem like what I'm trying to remember: some sort of deathmatch/capture the flag online FPS where jetpacks and anti-grav are used. gunfare like plasma guns, disc launchers... game is probably 10 years old now but I can't seem to think of it, and Red Faction reminded me of tons of hours I spent on it. Swear it was some kind of one-word title like "Heroes" or something.

I want to pick up the Beyond the Sword expansion for Civ IV. Can I buy it on Steam for my hard copy game?

Bought this today. I was ashamed of being a huge Diablo/Action-RPG fan and having never played this. It was $5 for TQ + the expansion.

Hoping its a nice filler while waiting on the next nice filler (Torchlight 2).

FYI Steam is way overpriced. just looked it up and you can get Beyond the Sword for $6 on Amazon vs $20 on Steam.

Haven't used Steam before, I have a few questions. Is buying the game on Steam the same as buying a copy from a store? Do you get the same manuals, etc in digital form?

They have manuals in hardcopy games again? I usually just get a 2 page flyer.

Jokes aside, yeah. Right-click on a game and select " view game manual ". You then are directed to the PDF of the manual.

I guess I'm just used to the Console games, which, other than Starcraft 2 and OOTP baseball, have been all I've played the last few years. They still come with decent manuals. The digital files might take some getting used to, since I like playing and have the manual be easy to access, without having to tab out of my full-screen game.

Well, I guess you can always print the manual

Who reads the manual anymore? Basically all games these days have in game tutorials and give you all the information you need. Not to mention with a PC game you are usually setting up your own key-config anyways. It's not like 10 years ago where you pre-read the manual to get the storyline and need to refer back to it every 10 minutes to find out what an item does.

I did not play any new PC games in a very long time as I only had laptops since 4 years. Right now I am shocked how good Stalker looks (and how well it runs on my new laptop). Any suggestions what I missed the last years and shall play next?
