Arkham City is a must buy @ 7.50. I'm buying torchlight 2 for $10 for sure after playing a lot of the first one. Good stuff in today's deals.

Yeah I ordered a wired 360 controller. I've been trying to play all my games with keyboard and mouse but it doesn't work too good with the third person games. The cheapest official one I could find was one of those see through glow in the dark green ones so that's what I got lol. I could probably do with a new mouse too actually, since the magic mouse is pretty AIDS for games (lolmac), and my old logitech mouse appears to be dying. Any suggestions? Preferably wired because I'm finding myself using way to many batteries.

Also, is Back to the Future worth getting? I'm a huge fan of both Back to the Future and old school point and click games so I'm guessing yes but just want to make sure. (I'm cheap and will probably wait until it's 75% off but wanna know if it's worth adding to my wishlist).

I didn't buy Portal 2 because I don't think my laptop can handle it, so I'm pretty sure it can't handle Arkham City

Your CPU isn't terrible and you have plenty of RAM. I would guess that you could play both of those games in a mix of low and medium settings. You might want to wait for a confirmation from someone else first though.

It depends on your graphics card but yeah judging by your other specs I'd imagine it'll be fine for those games.

On Steam it said it required (recommended?) 3.0 GHz, and that is before taking my standard Dell whatever crap video into consideration. But it is only 3 months old. I buy my laptop for value and not for video gaming, thats what my Wii is for. With my backlog, I am fine playing 4 year old games on my laptop like Portal and Viva Pinata.

Just this thread isn't for me unless it is games like Limbo or Cave Story or Braid.

My purchases so far have been Deus Ex: HR + Expansions for $10.00 and Civ5 GOTY + Gods and Kings for $20.00.

I think that should keep me going for a while even though I have 3 games in progress infinite unplayed games in my Steam already.

It is absolutely gross how many games I have bought this sale so far. I'll post a total count when it's over. But trust me it's gross.

Ugh, me too. ****ty thing is I don't even have a computer capable of playing three quarters of them. One day I will build one, though.

Today's deals

Counter Strike: GO
Modern Warfare 3
Alan Wake Franchise

Castle Crashers
Legend of Grimrock
The Witcher 2

I bought the bolded.

I swear I am not buying a single game in 2013.

And by that I mean there's no reason I would have to in order to have something fun to play, but I probably will anyway.

STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM!!!!

So I've printed out 4x6 pictures of desktop wallpapers for the games I'm giving my wife for christmas. Now I just have to fade her opening up our shared Steam account for a month. (She hasn't played a steam game in a looooong time.) Stocking stuffers!

One day we'll have spent enough to have built an amazing one already and then be forced to do it

Like I said before it depends on your gpu, but based on the fact that your system is 3 months and your other specs are fairly decent, I'd be surprised if you can't run those games. I mean you wouldn't be able to run Skyrim on max settings or anything but you should be fine with just about any game out now in low/medium at least. My cpu is slightly better than yours (2.7ghz i5) but I only have 4gb RAM and it runs both those games fine fwiw. Assuming your graphics card isn't total AIDS you should be fine.

I'm kind of similar to you though, I mainly play PC games that are a few years old, as they are cheaper and generally it's hard to run the latest games. My system at the moment is fairly decent but I've still been mainly picking up older games as there's loads I still need to play and they are dirt cheap in the sale.

I recommend Psychonauts btw since your tastes seem to be similar to mine; finally picked it up after wanting to play it for a while and it seems really cool. Gonna wait till my controller comes before I put more time into it though as it's a bit awkward with kb&m. You missed the flash sale but it's still £2.99 (probably $5).

+1. I think I'm at about 20 games this sale.

Having said all that, I'm not really a super technical guy so you might wanna get another opinion before you actually buy the games.
