I think that people who didn't like Darkest Dungeon simply didn't play it in the intended way. I did like few dungeons a week (one dungeon is usually 20-30 mins iirc) for a few months and had a blast, but I imagine that if you would just sit in and grind it, the game would get boring pretty fast. This is true for most roguelikes/lites, though, the only one that I could play repeated runs and not get bored was Slay the Spire. On the other hand, I don't have much time for gaming, so this type of engagement is perfect for me.

Oh, and +1 for Elastomania and DSJ, played a ton of both games like 20 years ago in school. Played a bit of Elastomania few years back and it's still quite fun, there are some craaazy level packs out there. Though I'm from Poland, so not really a new perspective.

EA just added a bunch of their games back to Steam and will be bringing Origin Access to Steam in the near future.

Not really sure how a different studio can release a game that appears to have 90% the same game mechanics as a previous game, just with a different theme. Maybe someone involved in the industry can explain that to me. Can game mechanics be copyrighted??

Not shitting on Desperados here, just curious. Will definitely be getting the game b/c I loved Shadow Tactics.
It's the same developer hence the striking similarities but the publisher is going to be the old one that released the original Desperados.
I'm hyped too as I just finished Shadow Tactics, liked it very much and there isn't much out there in the stealth-RTS genre that aged well.
However it does look like a bit of a reskin as you mentioned so I think 50 bucks seems a bit greedy on their part.

Total Annihilation give away on gog!

I always loved it even though I suck at RTS. My dad on the other hand was never into games much. He also doesn't speak english. I showed him the game once and a few weeks later he beat the whole campaign. I still can't believe it.

Hearing about TA makes me nostalgic. Never that good at RTS either but I love 'em anyway and wish there were some new ones coming out.

There's more actually... he just retired, he's playing mostly browser games like Settlers online or stuff like that. I remember we played Ogame back in the day but he was even more addicted to it than I was. I kept talking to him recently that he should make a steam account and whatnot and there are many cheap or even free games for him to pick up. It's been a few weeks and he still haven't done anything about it even though he seemed interested. Today I created him a gog account, claimed for him TA and gave him details. He called me an hour later asking how can he download it and play it I guess I should buy HoMM3 for him too because the sale is on.

I was more a Red Alert guy, my best friend loved TA though. Reminds me of like 4 of us huddled round a big white monitor every weekend.

Just found out that Red Alert Remastered is out today. Not exactly "new", but it's something at least.

Thanks mashxx for the heads up!

I still remember the Command and Conquer days. Sneaking an engineer into the enemy base... good times

Yeah I bought the C+C Remastered Collection and have been playing it. About as simplistic as a RTS can get (obv) but its high in nostalgia. Just put Hell March on repeat and go.

That's a lot to get through, however I noticed some good titles. Somebody on reddit made a collection of supposedly good games from this bundle here https://itch.io/c/893507/good-games

I'm sure a ton are garbage, but for less than a penny a piece and the money going to a good cause, it's pretty much a must buy.

I dunno. The idea of dumping that many games into my library at once (or trying to parse them beforehand), sounds like such a chore.

I just found this game, Plebby Quest, and it seems really interesting for the price. Seems like a Paper Europa Universalis Light.

I'll buy it and let you know.
