yeah this the first FIFA i've played. what are you guys' general impressions of FIFA's evolution? has it been getting better each year? or was there a particular year from before that was the best?

iirc - fifa 09 was the year it took on a new level.

Always amazing but 09 perhaps 08 everything changed for the better

I used to love the cross field through ball in 08. Hold L1+Triangle and watch Xavi ping a 40 yard diagonal ball to Messi who would run around the back and slide home. Thats 1 thing I wish they never took out of this game. Instead they bought it the redic lobbed through ball. You see way more diaganol balls fired into the corners than you ever see those chipped through balls IRL.

it seems that the PS3 people play a lot more club than xobx.

I was thinking about getting FIFA for xbox360, but I want to play a lot of online and it seems that its not going to happen with 2p2? Its also pretty much impossible to get on another team unless you are legit good/know a lot of people.

When we played club, everyone was invited into the same ps3 chat. The chat is persistent ( as in, everyone can close it / rejoin and it stays on the list until you delete it ) so you can just open it up everytime you want to club.

That's the skype one. The one Doom is on about is actually on the PS3 itself so when someone writes something it appears in the top corner like when someone on your friend list logs on. It's a bit of a pain in the arse though cos no-one has a keyboard so it takes forever to write stuff.

Also, has anyone seen any reviews or anything yet? Bit strange that there hasn't been one yet considering it's out in 3 weeks. Not usually a particularly good sign when reviews are done so late.

yeah more I can't, I mean I have a very good win/lose ratio in ranked, but I feel that it could be useful now that I only play against guys who make no major mistakes in defence. It's all about making space, and clearly skills can help.

Yeah they defo do help when you are playing someone who sets up uber defensive as it creates space in the tightest of situations.

But at the same time you can still own without them.

My mate has them down to a T and it's pretty damn awesome how he manages it.

He just has a knack of pulling them off and it's pretty impossible to predict what he's going to do. If you go to apply pressure with a beast he can just skip passed.
