Hi guys, I recently purchased an xbox for the sole purpose of playing fifa 12. My H2H record is like 5-17-20 with Brazil. In Ultimate team I win most games against poor chemistry teams but rarely ever beat someone with 100 chem. I probably win 40% of FUT bronze games. My last three games i've lost by a combined score of 1-20 vs good players. The formations I've been using are 4-3-3 and 4-3-2-1, but would change to anything that would improve my skill and luck.

I've read most of the thread looking for things to improve but it doesn't seem to be helping me. Would anyone be willing to walk me through the nuances of the game, either by describing how they play and/or possibly playing against me?

Just read about the new Euro 2012 expansion coming April 24th. I'm excited. I remember liking the online play of the 2010 world cup edition, the way they did the tourney with the online group stage first. hopefully they will do something similar. Also, its awesome they are making it a downloadable expansion instead of a whole other game.

Thanks, I have 120K to 150K plus a bronze team once my trade pile and consumables (3 yayas, a Ba 82IF 41212, 60 gold healing cards, and a handful of other gold players) are sold.


For my bronze team I have (433 formation) Powell, Westcarr, Weston, Gobern, Williamson, Bean, Bakayogo, Osbourne, Pearce, and Ostam(something), and a 63 rated Goalie from Wales.

On the bench and in the club I have 20-25 (433) npower1 players such as Smith, Forte, Evina, Barcham, Milsom, Forbes and a few decent Bronze English non npower1, like Roberts the CM.

I have been unable to make it past the semifinals of the Bronze cup.
My favorite Bronze player I have used so far was the 59 rated Australian guy named Ibinesi? He was fast and very tall. A couple of cheap gold players I seemed to do Ok with were Welinton and Gervinho.

3 wins in 3 games in Div 3. If it wasnt for that tilt session 3 months ago I would still be on for clean sweep of promotions.

Record is 43-5-7 overall, since picking it up again I am like 26-1-2, and the 2 defeats were lol funny, redic domination lose vs guy with 1 shot etc.

I want to know the best player on here and please ask them that they play my friend online and destroy him. He is ok but he honestly thinks nobody can beat him just because he can beat the 3 or 4 people he knows around here. If i had to rate him id say he is an equivalent to division 5 or 6 player. Im sure someone can stomp him, let me know if you will embarass him for me and ill give you his gt. Thanks!

I was new to Fifa this year and didn't know anything about the sport (the game got me into watching actual games). I got better by playing a ton. Some general tips though:

You are probably holding turbo too much. Your player has so much better control of the ball, and you have so much better control of the player, when you are not holding turbo.

when defending, mix it up between playing the ball and marking men. and mix in a few r1 pressures. In general just don't give your opponent the same defensive look everytime.

know your team well. like you should know the foot of all your key players and their high and low attributes.

set everything to auto under settings. remove as many things to worry about as possible so you can just concentrate on passing without being tackled and intercepted.

When you have the ball and their team is packed in the box, you have to be very patient to get a quality chance. VERY patient

Learn ONE skill move and bust it out every once in a while...get pretty good at it. Then possibly add another to the repertoire...but keep it simple. I stick to the mcready spin and the chop.

When i first started i held turbo a lot. Now I use L2 to switch the ball to my other foot and then turboing ahead, often trying to end up on the side of my players strong foot. Is this something I need to be working on? Also I can't seem to figure out when to use L1, L2, and R2 in combination when dribbling. Do you have any pointers for that?

My defenders are set to low aggression and pressure. Unless I pressure myself or R1teammate pressure, it seems like whoever I am playing against has all the time in the world to find a shot or make a pass. I find myself giving up too many 4 on 3s, 3 on 2s, and 2 on 1s once he gets close to the box.

I am terrible at passing and using through balls in close. Some players I face seem to play like I do. A couple guys I played today though it seemed like they could fit the ball between my legs at the right time and right speed if they wanted to. How are they doing this?

My lobbed through balls are normally way to long or too short. Any tips?

Why don't my players always respond immediately when i hit L1 to send them on a run?

How do I move the player closest to a deflected shot to get to the ball first? It seems like my guys stand still and watch no matter how many times I hit L1 and try to move them into position to get the rebound and another easy shot off.

I played seven games today. 0-4 L, 0-5L, 3-2W, 2-4L, 5-0W, 0-4L, 1-2OT L

The guy who beat me 5-0 used a 5-2-2-1 and was killing me with prescion dribbling, strength to the ball, and perfect passing. His team might have costed 5K coins total and was like a 43 chemistry. I was very frustrated.

I have a very hard time scoring against players who seem to constantly run over my players and win the ball, leading to easy goals.

Won 3-0 first game in div 2.

I saw a first for me today, 3 games to go in div 3 I need 3 points, 2-1 down having missed tons of chances, I made Pepe slide Ronaldo as I knew he was making a 1-2. J knew I was late but was worth the yellow to prevent him going through, ref let play go on and the guy played the 1-2 anyway to the overlapping Kaka who went clear, Casillas saves, Ramos made a fantastic block on follow up. Ref then comes back and gives Pepe a straight red. I went on to own with 10 men and won the match and got promotion.

the liga portuguesa team is pretty cool but 4222 was meh especially with aimar and moutinho as CAMs so i changed it to 4-5-1

Maybe its been covered in this thread, but does anyone experience severe lag/loss of player response when playing online? I'm in division 3 and I've noticed as I've gone on I've had much more trouble getting my players to respond to my actions. Could this have anything to do with me playing from Arizona against overseas players? My internet connection is just fine FWIW.
