Any interest in a mod like death and taxes? Makes the game much better imo. But might run slower and with paradox terrible netcode prolly more sync problems?

I wasn't really pissed at my country's power or w/e. What got me was that I tried to help jim out, even after he vassalized me in the early game, and even let him take bits of NA that I had basically claimed. And I did it in the name of balance... as so many people were whining in the thread about how france had become a 2nd rate power etc etc.

And then he backstabbed me with Austria... the country that invaded him when I tried to help him out.

Looking back I should have recognized Jim was clearly insane, let him lose to the colonizers in the first place, or even side with the colonizers and carve up france with them. Which was the obvious move ldo.

But nope, I did a sub-optimal thing in order to keep the game interesting, and then was gangbanged 5v1 with a backstab from jim on top of it. I probably could have kept playing but at that point it would have been just endless wars from me on Jim until I destroyed France completely... and since you and selim already went down that road once I figured I'd just back out.

I find it hard to believe that you are all super-dependent on my presence to have fun. Frankly the level of butthurt here is really surprising.

I think 4 or 5 years maybe? All i remember about playing on that patch was that I was constantly running out of manpower due to rebels and that it was ridiculously unfun.

I never played any strategy game online. I really like EU3 and am considering giving it a try. How long does it usually take to finish a game?

It usually takes a couple weeks. We generally play about ~3 hours on a weekend and they last for 5-6 weeks.
