Why did they make the quick selection worse with Xbox? Or maybe I am misunderstanding it, in obvlion I had 8 quick select options now I have two? How does that make sense?

Yeah, I'm like 30 hrs in, and there's absolutely no way I'm 10% done. I haven't even seen a dragon yet, and I'm level 30 or so iirc.

Pretty sure you have to do the quest in Whiterun where you kill your first dragon before they show up in the world.

i'm also very surprised that the internet hasn't turned out in force against bethesda "dumbing down" the game but i think the simplification of their stat and progression systems has turned out excellent. earlier itt i said i planned on powergaming but because of the new system i'm just playing the game and not worrying about leveling instead of spending hours standing in a corner using skills until i hit 50.

the old system was just ridiculously complicated. i remember spending around 4-5 hours leveling in morrowind just to figure out exactly how to get multiple x5 stat bonuses which is absurd when you think about it. the new system may be simplified but it finally does what bethesda was intending all along.

although my heavy armor/two handed orc did straight crush the first dragon i came across so i think i'm gonna have to turn the difficulty up.

i think they're passive unless you get really really close to them and then they **** you up.

I was turned into a vampire last nght, it was extremely annoying when people started attacking me for no reason at all let me stress this as much as I can:

IF YOU ARE BITTEN BY A VAMPIRE (OR ATTACKED BY ONE) YOU HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY GO TO THE "THRONE OF TALOS" IN WHITERUN AND ACTIVATE THE CROSS, OTHERWISE YOU'LL HAVE TO GO THROUGH A LONG QUEST TO CURE YOURSELF OF IT!

that's what happened to me and while, being a vampire will be fun when I'm ready to be one, it's frustrating when you have to do this buggy quest....

If you guys need help, I cured my vampirism but, it's a little tough, if people are attacking you then, you're a "stage 4" vampire and will need to suck someone (their blood...) while their asleep in order to become a lower level vampire to do the quest, I succesfully did all of that last night so, if you need help, pm me

I also, recorded myself feeding off of someone and that video is here:

As a fan of Morrowind, I absolutely LOVE this change. I hated having to think hard about which of 12 stats and like 30-odd secondary ones I wanted to upgrade every time a level-up happened. The way it is in Skyrim is so much better. The perks make the changes obvious, and the stats are kept simple. I also like that the merchant system doesn't depend on relations anymore (it doesn't, right?). I think all the things they "dumbed down" are simply things that were made complex before for no reason, whereas the things they expanded upon really add to the depth and fun of the game.

They Apple'd the game. Even the way the three bars vanish when they're full/useless feels like Jobs passed int heir office and was like "nah, don't need to see that. More field of view for dragons and ****".

There's tons and tons of improvements like this that I keep noticing, and probably a lot of other improvements that work so well that you don't even notice them.

I was almost positive I'd hate this game because I loved Morrowind so much, and didn't like the changes in Oblivion, I assumed it'd continue it's downward spiral. I am sooo glad I was wrong.

My GF really hates it, that's for sure. I'm installing it on the kids' computers now, can't wait to see this on high settings.

I've killed 3 giants so far, they drop ~200g each plus other goodies.

My secret to killing giants was learning how to cast this:

Has anyone figured out what the little diamonds to the right of items are in the inventory? It is tilting me that I can't figure it out.

I think it means an item that is better than the one you have equipped.

I don't know how I'm going to resist getting this game before 12/25 to be honest. BF3 with the unlock system and a constant feeling of WTF/lag on good ping servers just doesn't seem like it will go the distance.

If they are weapons and armor then it means they have better stats than what you have equipped. It does it in absolute terms though. A two hander will say that it has better stats than your one handed sword you have equipped with a shield.

My other main problem with the game right now is that I'm having faction indecisiveness.

I'm all, "Oh, SURE I'll join you!" to just about everyone.

I haven't turned down a single request thus far.

I'm level 29 I think. I just hit 100 pickpocketing, and I'm able to steal not only what is in their pockets, but I'm able to literally steal the clothes/armor off their back.

It's sort of funny to be in the throne room of a Jarl with their housecarl and a bunch of guards surrounding me and literally stealing the sword from their hand along with all the rest of their inventory as they all give me the, "Don't you even THINK about it!" speech for being in sneak-mode.

I make pretty frequent use of the quicksave button, but not because I'm worried about killing the guards when people catch me stealing, but I don't want to basically lock myself out of all the main towns.

Unless... can you just kill all the guards in a town and still have the other NPC's talk to you?

Funny that you guys should mention that Giants are the baddest mofos around. The only fight I wasn't able to overcome with a quickload was vs a mammoth. Mammoths may not kick you 300 feet into the sky, but they will **** **** UP and they sprint-charge at you so you can't kite them. I could probably kill one alone, but they seem to travel in groups of 2-4 and they immediately come to help their friends.

For mammoths you can usually use the terrain against them. Just jump down a little level and they have to take the long way around then jump back up and they have to do it again. Repeat. They do have a **** ton of health though.

Lame. In previous games they just take all your stolen **** and toss you in jail (which you break out of).

holy **** how much do you play? i haven't pickpocketed at all in this game for some reason. i used to steal everything in sight in the previous games. i think i always start out noble and good then eventually say **** it i'll take your stuff and kill you if i get the chance. level 100 is pretty ridic though...do you just steal from every person you see?

Have a question if anyone knows.

I'm in Harmugstahl trying to retrieve something and there is a puzzle with 4 levers. I can't find any clues on how to get past it. I try using clairvoyance and it seems to be showing me an alternate route (into a wall?). Help please? Thanks.

Anyone else using the "Clairvoyance" spell a lot? Really helps you find your way around, in dungeon and out.

I forgot I had it for a while. Today I remembered it and use it a lot. It can kind of be a pain if you like to keep a lot of quests active at once (which I do).
