There's a bit of controversy with Alliance getting invited cause they won WCA when there wasnt that many tier 1 teams (but the prizepool was pretty huge).

It was either Liquid, LGD or Alliance that was getting the last spot, I agree with the 7 others. I think on performance against competition alone Liquid should have gotten the nod over alliance barely but eh it was a hard decision for Valve.

*actually CDEC getting in is slightly controversial too because of how poorly they've done since TI...

Hopefully Liquid gets through the qualifiers, but the euro quals are by far the hardest and anything can happen.

Yeah, Euro quals seem to be interesting. And I think Liquid deserved to be invited instead of Alliance.

pajkatt/bambo and a few new players won the first open qualifier for euro (basically revamped 4 clovers), definitely the best team in the first quals.

Kaipi (with bone7, etc.) finished 2nd.


NA open qualifiers had like enemy vs elite wolves bo1 in the round of 32... basically the 2 best teams i think, lol.

Watching NA open qualifiers, and capitalist keeps running a radiant offlane tusk. But he just abandons the lane and pulls ancients through the mid creep wave by ice shard blocking off their path back up the hill. Pretty amazing gimmick.
