Ahh, missed it. It's cool to see general hero stats though. I had no idea Treant Protector had such a high win rate...

It was getting every game in July, but for the past week or so it has missed a ton of games and is laggy as hell.

Probably a dumb question, but it looks like Valve is making a big push to get people to spectate The International tournament with providing a spectate only client.

Is The International going to be free to watch through the Dota 2 client or are you going to have to buy a ticket to gain access? I haven't been able to find anything that says you have to pay.

I'm pretty sure you will be able to watch Tobiwan stream every game on joindota.com for free.

Sweet. That's what I wanted to know.

"Tickets for the 3 day Seattle event are sold out. Lucky for you, all of the games can be watched, live or as replays, in Dota 2 for free."

Anyone wants to make a guess for the rankings of the teams in the international?

I thinks its extremely close. MUFC and AL are probably the weakest. Zenith could either win it or be out early since they are very inconsistent. Darer is doing great lately. Tongfu and LGD are ok. Ehome will be somewhere near the top along with Navi.

I'd say...

Navi, MTW, Zenith and Ehome have the biggest chance to win it all.

Not EHOME. LGD are the much better Chinese team imo. Everything for EHOME imo rests on Dai/X!!! game plan.

Top 10 would be

1. NaVi
2. Zenith
3. LGD
4. CLG
5. EG
6. Darer ( Can beat anyone more regularly but Godkillthemall needs to be in prime form)
7. mTw
8. DK ( again, needs BurNing needs to have extremely good games. He is the best carry/farmer in the game so thats why DK is so high for me)
9. EHOME
10. (Insert chinese team here). Whether its IG or Tongfu, all 5 chinese teams are top 10.

If I queue with someone who normally plays on very high (and the mm always puts me in normal), will it compromise and put us in high? Not really sure how it works.

If that is how it works though, I'd like a pm from some very high players. It is just taking me more time than I have available to play to move up a tier in the mm.

Years ago I used to play professional HoN, and recently formed a Dota 2 team and am trying to get back into the competitive scene. We just finished our first tournament that had good teams in it, beating Empire and Virtus Pro on our way to the finals.

Here's the cast for the finals: http://www.own3d.tv/nyjohntv/video/763488, games were pretty good.

If anybody has questions about competitive play I'd be happy to answer

Watched the first match of the finals. Great game for first 20 min or so, then really devolves after that.

Meh. Beyond certain strategic implications for things like hero picks, I don't find it very valuable to worry too much about who I'm playing against. It's really easy to underestimate somebody like sayuri or overestimate big name pros, and doing either of these things hurts my game. Being mentally overconfident often leads to me overextending with my hero and getting punished, and the opposite leads to second guessing and not playing decisively. It sounds kinda corny, but you just have to have the attitude that if you continually make correct decisions and execute you are going to beat whoever you are playing against.

Despite all of the above, I would say I have a bias where I sorta assume girls are not good at dota. I think the first time I played against her team I didn't know who any of them were, so that helped mitigate that for future games.
