Big comebacks are so satisfying. We lose every lane hard and are over 35k behind in exp at one point.

Then we have NP split and while their whole teams runs back and forth trying to catch him we recover some farm.

Then we get a pick off and win a team fight and then another ans it's over.

Only one reponse to all chat after a victory like this....

Found a nice group of people playing solo. Played as a 5 stack the next few games. Won em all. There's still hope out there!

Last night I had 2 friends on my team go >0-10. One bought 10 potions and the other kept trying to 1v5 the other team. The entire time they were shouting *** into their mics with perfect.... wait for it......

league player here, someone tell me which champ i should play and where for my first game vs humans. for some reason i am scared to take the plunge.

i have played bot games using centaur, venomancer, chaos, lion, sand king, wraith king, tidehunter, vengeful spirit, ogre magi, CM, sven, slardar, witch doctor, lich and warlock.

from those, my favorites were venomancer (i thought he was a carry, but he's a support? solid kit overall), warlock (love the dot and the ult), lich (ult seemed OP and easy denies for mana), sven/slardar (seemed really smiliar, melee carries)

any suggestions?

yeah veno is similar to vengeful spirit a bit, semi-ranged agi supports. There arent a lot of those.

If you feel like playing a strength you could tryout wraith king, hes basically the most simple hero in the game with a crit and a life leech auras, a basic single target stun and his ultimate revives you if you die with enough mana.

Mirana is kinda the staple semi-carry and easy to learn ranged agility. Her skills are pretty intuitive and shes good overall for any job.

If you liked playing those supports then good for you they tend to be needed at lower mmr and not too complicated (but youll have to learn to ward eventually, etc.)

Lina is a pretty simple big nuker too for a support

Lich (support), Wraith King (carry), Death Prophet (mid), and Tidehunter (offlane) are what I would recommend for getting used to all roles.

first game vs humans

Last edited by waffle; 08-01-2014 at 11:33 PM. Reason: her ult is OP, i got caught out alone and turned it into a doublekill

awesome man, and yeah, her ult is crazy good especially vs weaker opponents who don't understand HOW powerful it is and hang around you for too long

I have really begun to enjoy picking Vengeful into Faceless. It confuses the living **** out of them when they chrono.

yeah, venge is a pretty decent void counter, but only against carry void. If he's playing offlane or something then shadow demon or euls scepter is better.

So just had a Mirana deliberately feed because "mid no gank", when I was 3-0 as Viper mid. After i called Bloodseeker missing 6 times and said he is going top he stayed in lane died inevitably to the BS and blamed me.

That is now 8 free wins for the opposition in my last 25 games or so, no free wins for me. How can you rise in MMR in this situation? Like I cannot fail to have a negative win/loss ratio and so I am slowly going down not up even though in fair games I am probably winning 70%. Just brutal.

Its not like Starcraft at all. Then it was all on me and rising to where you belong would never take more than a few days. Thinking of giving up on ranked altogether but without a metric like MMR I have no way to know if I improve. I feel I have improved so much recently but my MMR is the same as like 200 games ago. What is fun about gaming for me is getting better, and this just puts me in some sort of limbo.

tl;dr this game isnt fun, community so toxic, variance kicking the absolute **** out of me, losing 8 60/40s in a row for stacks.

it doesnt seem too hard to get 4k+ and that **** should be more rare then, kind of motivating to just still do ur best and win

Shouldn't be but even 3k is v. hard for me.

yeah I know the old "just learn something and focus on getting better every game ignore results" like poker applies. But its difficult to be so logical in the face of losing streaks when ridiculous **** happens.

So. Much. This.

The level of teammate play at ~2700 MMR makes it nearly impossible to progress a substantial amount.

this **** happens at any mmr. I can't say if it's more or less common at higher brackets, but it's common enough that you get used to it and accept that it won't go away no matter what you do.

Queue CD/CM or just don't play ranked at all until a few friends get online, IMO. It's going to happen everywhere, but it's probably an order of magnitude more when solo queuing ranked AP.

i feel like cd/cm might actaully be worse...

Its just an extra factor to deal with with people having to play a hero that someone else chooses, or someone picks the one you thought you'd get etc.

More feeding possibilities.

I guess the upside is the team comp is usually way better on both sides
