There was some mention of NAT-issues in chat today, so figured I'd post a useful link for manually forwarding PSN ports to your PS4.

If you're interested in "what is NAT", here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network...ss_translation

Quote:
A NAT device is similar to a phone system at an office that has one public telephone number and multiple extensions. Outbound phone calls made from the office all appear to come from the same telephone number. However, an incoming call that does not specify an extension cannot be transferred to an individual inside the office. In this scenario, the office is a private LAN, the main phone number is the public IP address, and the individual extensions are unique port numbers.
As defined by games:

NAT type 1 = no NAT (you have a real publicly accessible IPv4 address for your PS4 (very rare)).
NAT type 2 = you are behind a NAT, but ports appear to be working (either automatically via UPNP, or through manual forwarding)
NAT type 3 = you are behind a NAT, and it is not possible to connect to your ports properly for some reason. (often since you are behind 2 NATs (tethering is likely), something else on your LAN is using the ports alrea\dy, or UPNP failed.) This is problematic.

PSN appears to want a lot of ports!

Quote:
PlayStation Network requires you to forward the following ports: 80,443,465,983,1935,3478-3480,3658,5223,10070-10080.
For detailed instructions, find the model of your router here: http://portforward.com/english/appli...ation_Network/

Good luck!

I found part of this answer (assuming the video I watched was accurate).

Legendary weapons - will require glimmer, 20 of a specific material (i.e. helium filaments or the other 3, and 1 etheric light

Exotic weapons - will require glimmer, 25 weapon parts, and 1 exotic shard

Armor?

Basically I'm checking if any and all legendary and/or exotic/raid armor can be upgraded and what items will be required to ascend those? They may not leak that until the DLC comes out.

As far as we know any legendary weapon or armor, any exotic weapon or armor can be "ascended" to the new cap. Legendary wapons and armor will take an etheric light and a small assortment of mats, exotic weapons and armor will take an exotic shard and a small assortment of mats.

This can be done at any stage in the XP tree (need not be fully upgraded), and will not reset their progress - but items will need to be fully upgraded eventually to attain the maximum stats.

So am I correct that a person possibly would not need to spend marks to purchase new gear from the vendor when they can upgrade any armor to the new max level (with appropriate materials of course)? That would be nice as the marks can be spent on a weapon and materials instead.

Pretty sure that's the case yes - vendor armor won't be any better than level 32 Crota or Iron Banner armors off the shelf (although it is possible there may be new perks, idk - we have seen new weapon perks, but not armor afaik).

So yeah, more marks going spare to purchase glorious re-rollable weaponary

Does the new Armor and Weapons also require Etheric Light to fully level them? If so, Etheric Light might be more available than we think?

Etheric light required to take any of this new vendor gear to 34 yes. I believe there are level 34 / 365 drops from ToO and Poe, but I think they are reserved for the highest levels, unsure.

Do you guys spend time fully leveling up Dupe exotic and legendary weapons to get more Energy and Exotic shards out of them? I've been doing this but I've gotten extremely lucky with drops the past few weeks and now I almost have too much crap to level and shard lol. I think I might have to finally just shard off the bat some of this stuff now.

---

Pretty good night last night. Got crap from Nightfalls (Arc Judgement VI, Crowd Control Venetian, 7 Energy) but they went pretty fast. Got to do 3 Crota runs. 2 with 4 people and 1 with 3 people. It's always sweet to help someone kill Crota for the first time as Swordbearer and I got to kill Crota 3 handed. Even though I've done the raid countless times, stuff like that keeps it fun for me.

Got 3 Exotics from the 3 Crotas, Red Death, Thunderlord & No Land Beyond.

With the new market coming in the HoW that seems less critical. Seems like normal activity to get the new mats will result in enough of the secondary stuff.

Here is an easy to follow video on how to get to level 34 possibly on day 1 if not very quickly (for those of us who will be playing it a lot less than before once dlc is live). I am glad that I don't need a bunch of marks/materials to do it...sense of relief on time saved there.

If you want to skip the video here is the summary.
Spoiler:
1) Exotics can be leveled up to the max light level using an exotic shard which will bring your overall level to 32.5.

2) You can run the Nightfall for a chance at Etheric Light which you will need to ascend your legendary armor.

3) If you don’t get an Etheric Light from Nightfall, the next step is to complete all the story missions on your selected character and run the level 32 Prison of Elders.

This will net you an armor core with which you can buy a max light legendary armor from the vendor Varyks in the Reef. Make sure the exotic in the slot you upgraded is different from the armor you buy from Varyks.

4) Now you will be at 33 light and can run the level 34 Prison of Elders. This will net you a weapon core and an Etheric Light with which you can ascend another armor piece.

5) Now you need another Etheric Light and for that if you have another character you can attempt the level 34 Prison of Elders again and transfer over the Etheric Light to your desired character and voila! You will be level 34. It is not possible to get all three characters to level 34 but you can get at least two characters to 34 in the HoW launch week.

I've stopped leveling exotic weapon dupes for the extra shards mostly bc of the Amt I've gotten but also bc I only really play endgame and maybe 1 day worth of bounties a week so was running out of space. It depends if you're getting enough xp/have nothing else to level then you may want to keep like 1 or 2 per character / per weapon class (primary/sec/heavy)

Otherwise if you have the strange/enough shards to upgrade a bunch of **** in HoW then shard away

Also keeping dupes of your absolute fav guns is prob worth it just in case

Yea I've been doing less and less "just bounty" playing lately so it's taking a lot longer to level up some of these. Time to start sharding.

hopefully you intend on getting the new DLC (House of Wolves), or the season pass to get both. Buying only the current DLC (The Dark Below) at the weekend would only give a few days before there's new stuff to be locked out of again Chances are the DLC1 stuff will be less heavily featured going forwards, tho I imagine some people will still run Crota from time to time.
