Spoiler:
Now i know why i had so much trouble in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. I missed an entire area!
I couldn't believe that the catacombs were so small, so i backtracked a bit and found the Abandomed Tomb.
7 giant crabs and a ballista? Really?
Luckily i was level 60 at this point otherwise I would've been toast.

new area called AL
Spoiler:
What! WHAT! ANOR LONDO! Holy ****!
Miyazaki you little genius
I ran up the stairs like an idiot and 5 seconds later I was dead.
blacksmith is dead though

Aldrich is a bitch -> died 3 times already and haven't beaten him

new area called ID
Spoiler:
most annoying enemy ever -> lifedrainbitch
I found Yhorm and did no damage.
You probably have to use his weapon but I don't know yet.

boss in AL and boss in ID seem to be my only way to advance
My dark sword +7 will carry me to victory

I have some questions...

I have a bunch of gems, but I can only infuse raw and fire (maybe a 3rd too) at Andre. WTF? Notably the heavy gem, and I'm a str character.

I assumed the key that woman at firelink sells was for the door behind the katana guy. I decided to go try to kill him while farming for the 20k, but then the door said it doesn't open from this side and not "locked". So I'm wrong about that assumption, right?

And possibly something minorly spoilery, but probably not...

Spoiler:

I got to the elevator that takes you up to the giant dude throwing spears. The first time I used the elevator, it brought me DOWN to some area with a really tough miniboss guy. I can't get the elevator to go down. But Siegward said he figured it out! (before helping me kill the fire demon). Am I supposed to be able to get back down there yet?

I'm honestly not sure where else to go at this point... I've killed the giant tree thing (cursed greatwood?).

You have to find specific coals and give them to Andre before you can use certain gems.

The door to the tower is on the other side of Firelink. Go out the upper exit and turn left.

The elevator has two platforms.

Thanks lol.

Sort of wish I spent a bit more time because that seems figureoutable. But at the same time, I think I would just keep taking the 1 platform up/down and assume I needed to go elsewhere to make a change happen and never figure it out.

Level 60 and still the struggle with Irithyll of the Boreal Valley is real

I know my armor isn't very strong but damn that beginning area is pretty rough lol.

I need one more pale tongue to have the 5 needed to re distribute my points. I'm not sure if when you do this it makes you have a minimum # on each stat like 1 or more but still it will be nice to shift the faith/luck stats out to other stats I utilize more. I'm just struggling to get that 5th pale tongue even when going to the best farm spot sigh.

Weapon wise I want to say I have a raw brigade ax +7, heavy dark sword +6 (pumped to get this to 10 since it scales A with str), and then I just infused a black katana with fire +3 I want to say....haven't tested it out yet.

Before I re allocate I need to look at the armor closer. I've got probably 12-15 sets and not sure which I want to use that isn't too heavy but is solid. They all seem fairly close like Bloodborne was.

FML from what I just read it looks like I won't be buying any more offensive spells so I should probably not pursue an INT build unless Heavy Soul becomes OP later on sigh. Both NPCs are gone for good from the sounds of it.

Spoiler:
One NPC died since I didn't do the draw inner strength and I didn't talk to the other one early enough in the firelink shrine to give him at least 1 scroll so he just left fkkkk

Yeah, the first knight at the high wall is a real bastard

Is he going to do his 2, 3, 4, or 5 hit combo? Guess wrong and you're probably dead

Just got to Irithyll of the Boreal Valley.

SPOILER: HOLY **** THIS IS HARD WTF.

Loving this as much as DS1 tbh. Not sure what some of the negative reviews were about at all. Haven't had any frame rate issues thus far on ps4.

I feel you bud that's exactly where I am at. This is the first time in the game I have felt I need to "git gud" and actually live by those words not just say them.

There's no way you're supposed to go there first, I got owned so hard, turned around and went to Irithyll which is difficult but at least manageable

So you guys are saying that me messing around and farming the areas before Irithyll of the Boreal Valley is actually a genius strategy and I'm not just wasting my time?

I find farming in general much slower than other DS game, it's not till the last few areas of the game you start getting those juicy easy to kill enemies that drop like 3-5K each.

Just got to THAT (AL) boss fight

Spoiler:
ALDRICH

DO NOT WANT

Tips? I have Wolf's Knight Greatsword but need some more Titanite Scales to get it to +3. Also have a fire longsword I'm thinking may be better due to being able to attack more.

This dude is destroying me. Think I've got him to 1/3rd health once so far in about 8 tries.

I think your weapon upgrade level is a bit low for him.
Fight advice tho: Stay close and aim for his pooptail, not much of his melee **** can hit you if you dodge and all his magic you can roll thru, the only rough bit is the arrow attack although the p1 is easier, the p2 version felt like it hit harder to me anyway.

The AL fight...

Spoiler:
Try to stay close to him, any time you're not near him is just time he's going to rain **** on you. When he disappears make a bee line for wherever he's going to appear next so you close to him when he spawns.

The arrow rain is the most dangerous attack by far. It's very long in phase 2, I found the most effective technique was to run in a moderately wide circle.

His melee hit is also very powerful but also easily seen and dodged.

Was level 55ish and just sailed through that area until the boss. I really liked it too. Beautiful.

Irithyll forced me to switch up my playstyle, from <30 equip load all-rolling to >30 playing tanky-ish with a shield.

Agreed, the PS fight is amazing. Woke up this morning and wrecked his face. Followed a message and got the reversal ring but I have no idea what it does. The pyro guy says he wishes he was a woman so he can teach me some spells but there's no way I see to give it to him.

Thanks for the vote of confidence lol. I just need to switch up my playing style. I didn't get to play last night but I am sure I will hit some good sessions this weekend. I was going to look at re allocating points but I think it resets you back to your class starting stats not putting them all at like 1 so there isn't as much of a rush to do it.
