There's a trick - if you have a friend who got in and you recover his account on your 360 then you can download and play it on your accounts until you turn off your 360.

and yeah, my friend got the beta off ebay, logged into my account.. downloaded the cod4 to 1% then logged out.

I recovered my account, checked download history (cod4 listed) and i resume downloading so i can play.

You had to go to charlieoscardelta.com and register for an account there, then when they opened the beta just click "join" and they sent you a confirmation code in your email. Pretty sure they accepted everyone that signed up, not sure if they are still taking more
