The matching has to do with your trophy level and the server you logon to. It has nothing to do with your TH.

Matching is done based on trophy level. But if you are a TH10 and your trophy level is low then you are likely to be matched with TH8 or lower opponents and then the loot penalties for attacking a lower town hall means there is very little loot for you while there is plenty of loot for a TH7 or TH8 attacking in the same trophy level range.

Penalty as mentioned above is 10% for 1 level, 50% for 2 levels, 75% for 3 levels and 95% for 4 or more. So basically you need to make sure you are in a trophy range with mostly TH9 and TH10 because that is where you can get decent loot from.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like I was right in that my TH10 has too few trophies right now to actually be able to attack and get a decent amount of loot.

Also can I research something in the lab after I upgrade it (as in, while it's upgrading)?

you can, but research will pause during upgrade

Further more, my TH6 is about to finish. I have like 960k elixer saved up. Should I upgrade my lightning spell to level 3 (costs 1 milly and 3 days), or should I wait for my TH6 to finish to upgrade my lab, and then research giants level 3?

As the new guy, I am def not trying to rock the boat, but have a question for you guys regarding war and its roi. As a preface, these are my first few wars and I think they are fun. I royally suck so far, but the tactics, playing with troop composition, etc is def a nice change of pace from mindlessly grinding resources.

That being said, the EV of war seems dubious to me when purely looking at it from a resource point of view (at least in its current form). Most people roll with dragtard/rage as that is the easiest way so far to get the most stars for people. Assuming max drags/rage/troop capacity that is @400k+ elix per attack. Even more for those people who donate a ton to off/def cc troops. The war bonus is @600-700k at best, only if the clan wins.

I like the wars and would like to keep doing them, but my elix upgrades have def suffered. If I want to finish up my de drills, get 6* barb/arch/gob, etc, I probably won't be able to war as much we do currently. Maybe I head to a farm clan for a while when I want to grind?

Interested in anyone else's thoughts. Again, not trying to be the new guy that F's around with status quo but was just thinking about it last night.

You're correct. Clan war is a luxury. Winning even more so. Just imagine what it took to create our win streak!

you can go with giants and wizards on the wars if you dont want to spend too much elixir. I usually do one hog attack and one giant attack so that i can get some back after the war.
