Releases May 25, 2010 (XBOX 360, PS3 and PC)

Has anyone heard anything about this game? Someone emailed me a beta code, and it's downloading now (very slowly). It's a racing game with licensed cars and power-ups. Sounds like Mario Kart with real cars with up to 20 players online.

Made by the masters behind Project Gotham Racing and Metropolis Street Racer, Blur is a racing project by Bizarre Creations that aims to take arcade-style action and realistic driving physics to a whole new level. The game drops players into heart-pumping, electrified racing action with 20 cars on a track all targeting the finish line and battling each other as they trade paint and collect intense power-ups, including the ability to blast other cars out of the way with huge bursts of energy, boost their speed, and more.

While controlling photo-realistic cars, gamers can use offensive and defensive attacks as they battle for the lead and careen through real-world track locations ranging from L.A. and San Francisco to the streets of Hackney, UK and the treacherous roads of Barcelona, Spain.

Not sure how the gameplay will be, but hopefully the beta will be fun.

played a few races. It has a lot of the same elements of MW2. You earn fans each race which are used to rank up levels. At each level you unlock different cars and options. At the end of each race, it has awards. Lobby system with short wait in between matches.

Controls like your typical racer, RT is gas, LT is brake. You drive through powerups like in Mario Kart and hit the A button to use them. Still haven't learned all the powerups yet, but some give you nitro, force field bubble, three bullets to shoot, lightning bolt.

Graphics are ok, nothing too special, but framerate seems solid. Lobby froze my xbox one game, had to power down and start back up.

Overall, pretty fun game but I don't think I'd spend $60 on it. I'd have to see what other modes aren't included in the beta.

Ill have to check this out, iv always found "realistic" racing games to be a bit boring. Need powerups/shields/jumps to mix things up a bit.

This game looks like it could be pretty fun, but not sure it will be worth a buy for me. Four player split screen is nice to see this generation, but since I dont have many friends who would be interested it's kind of a moot point for me.

Unless it turns out to be amazing I'll probably be saving my $60 for Modnation Racers. I don't really need more than 1 racing game.
