Wrong played or just bad luck? Wrong played or just bad luck?

Hi guys,

what do you think? I have to say that the UTG player raised/called everything with every hand all the time. With the following hand i thought that I finally could get his whole stake.

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #11665742

    CO: $1.42 (71 bb)
    BTN: $1.88 (94 bb)
    SB: $2.03 (101.5 bb)
    BB: $3.02 (151 bb)
    UTG: $1.49 (74.5 bb)
    Hero (MP): $3.35 (167.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A A
UTG calls $0.02, Hero raises to $0.06, CO calls $0.06, 3 folds, UTG raises to $0.18,
Hero raises to $1.48, CO folds,

I knew he will call it, that's why I forced him all-in, I accidently typed $1.48 instead of $1.49, but anyway...

UTG raises to $1.49 and is all-in, Hero calls $0.01

    Flop: ($3.07) 4 T 7 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
    Turn: ($3.07) Q (2 players, 1 is all-in)
    River: ($3.07) 2 (2 players, 1 is all-in)

    Spoiler:
    Results: $3.07 pot ($0.15 rake)
    Final Board: 4 T 7 Q 2
    UTG showed Q Q and won $2.92 ($1.43 net)
Hero showed A A and lost (-$1.49 net)

how could it be played wrong? usually you can 4b smaller but with your reads that he would stack off anyway...

this kind of thinking can hold you back as a player. just because you lost doesnt mean you played it bad and vice versa.

you got AA in pre, and you ask if its wrong...

Raise a little bigger, but other than that just get it in if he's calling everything.

AA is the only hand you can get it all in with pre knowing WITHOUT a doubt you have the best hand before the flop so of course you played it right. If he is going to call you then bet it. AA is only one pair at the end of the day though, lots of hands that if improved beat it so you are going to get sucked out on sometimes from the flop to river. Happens, good hand.

I just wasn't sure if AA maybe should be played slower. I tend to lose with pocket AA's. At least at micro stake tables.

op, sorry you didn't get his stake this time. but remember, poker is a jungle. you are the lion, roaring proudly with your pocket aces. fearing naught, you brazenly shovel in the last of your chips, welcoming any creature who deigns to test his fortune. but what you didn't realize is that the villain is a snake waiting in the bushes. not one prone to contumelious acts of aggression, the snake does not feel the need to raise his queens upon entering the pot, for he knows that all good things come to those who wait. and as he's there in the bushes, waiting patiently, suddenly you appear in a whirlwind of braggadocio, his unwitting prey. like so many lions, you allowed your pride to get the best of you, and just when you weren't looking the snake sank his venomous, deadly fangs into you, exposing the folly of your ways.

fold pre, unless you want to burn money, Aces is only one pair and has terrible equity vs. a set
