2/5 NL at MGM Detriot Friday night, game is loose and aggresive. most of them are 5/10 players just waiting for the seats while playing at 2/5. I was not involved in this hand but i was shocked to see how one of the players pull that move.

1 guy limps at mid position, another guy limps at late position, SB raises to 30, both limpers call. Flop comes 752 rainbow, SB bets out 60, the first limper raises to 140, the 2nd limper thinks a bit and calls the 140. SB also calls the additional 80. Turn comes an Q, SB checks, the first limper bets 200, the 2nd limper calls the 200, and SB also calls the 200. River comes another queen, now SB comes out and bets 200, an rather tiny bet, the first limper tanks and calls the 200, now the 2nd limper thinks a bit and raises all in for 400 more. SB almost instant mucks, the 1st limper tanks, tanks and finally calls and shows J7 suited, and the 2nd limper turns over pocket 9's...

I was shocked to see how he pulled that super razor thin river "value" raise there, or can we even call that an value raise? I asked him if his intention was to bluff or what? he said he was not bluffing? Are live 2/5 players capable of this type of play?

The SB never showed his hand, I mean if the SB had hands like 10,10, JJ, that would be the greatest play ever. But the fact that the SB instant mucked, I don't think he had 1010,JJ...

Seriously how many poeple in the world is confident to raise there at the river against 2 opponents with pocket 9's? I dont know if it was a ******ed play or a genius play?

The fact that you felt the need to title the thread "Is this a world class or ******ed play?" should give you your answer. This is a standard issue live poker monkey hand. It is a horribly played hand on the part of all involved.

FYI, you won't find "world class play" in a 2/5 game. You will, however, find general spewtardery such as that from the hand that you described.

OP, instead of spending energy in a senseless question (no offense), try to better yr own game so you can exploit the ******edness that thankfully still exists (but not limited to) in 2-5 live poker.

Well in live pokers, villains either have AK or 8 high, so seems like a no-brainer raise...
