So if I have 30% chance of getting my flush and winning the hand, and I have to bet £50 to enter a £150 pot, should I take into account the fact I have already betted £50 pre flop when making the descision about whether to bet?

Ok, but what do you mean when you say: that's the pot?

Money in pot are no more yours. No dif who paid into the pot, you are interested only in size of pot, call and equity.
Easy formula E=call/final pot says: look how much you have to call, count how much will be in pot after your call, divide and it is equity needed for breakeven call.

Whatever you already put in is effectively gone. You make your decisions based on the current potsize regardless of how much you already put in it on earlier streets.
