What are you watching for? What are you watching for?

What tendencies are you watching for from your opponent, and which do you consider the most important?

Obviously villian's range and aggression/passivity level are probably the most important (aren't they?).

What his reaction to cbets is.

If hes firing at checks, if he is double barreling.

How light he is calling. How strong he is folding.

Lately I've been trying to take notice of the more subtle things (its hard to do because I'm often watching TV as I play...), like if hes betting aggressively, if he is making any consideration to the board's texture.

What do you put the most emphasis on?

Don't watch TV while playing. If you only play poker you will get more reads and improve much quicker.

All of that OP, but also how often he does things. How often is he flatting pf OOP? How often is he raising his button? How often is he cbetting? Does he cbet certain flops less often? Does he barrel often? Is it with a polarized or a wide range?

Watch out for a few timing tells. For example, I've noticed some players will time bank the river when they are 1st to act and have a strong hand as if they are considering donking into you on the river so as to avoid you checking back. I see this all the time with flushes. Then of coarse theres some clever donks that balance their range by donking missed flush draws...
