My thinking was if he is holding the Ad or even KdKx he might be inclined to play this similarly. As a default, I do not worry about him having a flush on the flop as well. Is that assumption/disregard wrong? Sets may also play out the same for V.

Calling his 3bet might be more profitable since it keeps his bluffs in. When you shove he should fold his FD because he's not getting the right price.

This seems fine to me. Yeah you lose to better flushes but I think he shows up here with AdX here and 56 too. Get it in on flop rather than wait for a scare / trouble card on turn.
