iPoker - €0.05 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: 36.4 BB (VPIP: 16.67, PFR: 16.67, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 13)
UTG: 286.4 BB (VPIP: 21.43, PFR: 21.43, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 14)
MP: 80.6 BB (VPIP: 27.27, PFR: 27.27, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 11)
CO: 43.6 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 6)
Hero (BTN): 75 BB
SB: 124.2 BB (VPIP: 16.67, PFR: 8.33, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 13)

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 7 Q

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, SB calls 2.6 BB, fold

Flop: (7 BB, 2 players) Q J J
SB checks, Hero bets 3 BB, SB calls 3 BB

Flop: OK so board is pretty dry, the Q on the flop can provide some fold equity and since there is only one opponent and I've got position, I expect a fold very often.

Betting?
OK, so I could maybe expect some value from 77-TT and draws.
Not much point in betting as a bluff since we have decent showdown equity.

Checking?
Don't want to build a big pot but have reasonable showdown value.

Which option are you choosing and why?

Buy in full.
Pre is ok I guess, blinds look on the tight side (relative to average ipoker villain)
Cbet for value cos people expect us to bet there and we get a ton of calls from worse. We can check turn and sneak another street of value on the river from smaller pairs\ace high or whatever.

Why less than 1/2pot in the flop? I always they think bet sizing should almost always be 50-100% pot. I would go 5bb in this example.
I'm always betting this flop also, tp off my button raise is pretty much a dream c-bet.

Fold equity? Versus what? Q10? Q9?

A flop like this is the classic WA/WB scenario, and a case could be made for either checking or betting. Villain is very likely to have Ax and small pp in his range and could peel because you're going to cbet this flop a large percentage of the time.

Conversely, we could check flop for deception and might be able to get a call from villain with Ax on a blank turn.

Where it gets tricky is if the turn bricks. Do we bet again? We could safely b/f if he c/r turn, or if he x/c turn and donks river.

On the other hand, if the turn bricks and it goes check check, villain is likely to donk into us on the river and we're gonna have to play the guessing game.

I meant FE against hands we beat (Ax, lower pairs, etc.). Since we have good fold equity against these hands, I choose to bet smaller to try to entice them to stay in the hand.

Since I think I bet a lot of worse hands here, I think c-betting the flop is the correct play to at least somewhat balance my range. Followed my checking the turn and value-betting river, or by re-evaluating the situation if my opponent chooses to bet.
